Phenobarbital-induced alterations in phosphatidylcholine and triglyceride synthesis in hepatic endoplasmic reticulum

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1971
Biosynthetic pathways of phosphatidylcholine and triglyceride were studied in proliferating hepatic endoplasmic reticulum of rats pretreated with phenobarbital.

Simple Method for Derivatization of Monoglycerides and Diglycerides

open access: yesJournal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL, 1988
Abstract A method has been developed for derivatization of monoglycerides and diglycerides to their propyl esters by using propionic anhydride in the presence of pyridine. The derivatives are volatile and thus can be separated and identified by gas chromatography (GC). Completion of the reaction is monitored by thin-layer chromatography.

The uptake and metabolism of C14-labeled fatty acids by macrophages in vitro

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1962
Macrophages obtained from the peritoneal cavity of rabbits were incubated in vitro in the presence of C14-labeled sodium palmitate, and the uptake of fatty acid and its subsequent incorporation into other lipid fractions was determined. Up to 21%, of the

Indomethacin-induced accumulation of diglyceride in activated human platelets. The role of diglyceride lipase.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1980
Human platelets incubated with thrombin and indomethacin (50 microgram/ml) exhibit an accumulation of diglyceride larger and more persistent than that observed for platelets incubated with thrombin alone. The accumulation appears to be due to the impaired metabolism of diglyceride by diglyceride lipase. In preparations of broken platelets, indomethacin

Molecular species of lecithins from erythrocytes and plasma of man

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1969
The lecithins of the plasma and erythrocytes of man were isolated by thin-layer chromatography, and the major molecular species were identified and quantitatively estimated by combined thin-layer and gas-liquid chromatography and specific enzymic ...

Production of methyl ester from oil in the wastewater pond of a palm oil factory [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2007
This research studied the suitable technique for the production of methyl ester from waste palm oil in the water pond of a palm oil mill. The composition of the waste palm oil was 73.82% fatty acid, 5.07% triglyceride, 3.39% diglyceride and 17.76 ...

Harvesting, oil extraction, and conversion of local filamentous algae growing in wastewater into biodiesel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Algae are known to be a potential feedstock in the production of biodiesel fuel. Although much of the focus has been on microalgal species, macroalgae are also suitable as a source of lipids.
