Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Microstructural and Physical Properties of High‐Protein, High‐Overrun Frozen Desserts [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of food science.
ABSTRACT Ice cream and frozen desserts fortified with protein often have undesirable physical and textural properties despite their increased nutritional value, and are susceptible to shrinkage during storage. The effects of dairy protein structure on structural and physical properties of the mix and frozen product were identified by studying frozen ...

Synthesis of molecular species of glycerophospholipids from diglyceride-labeled brain microsomes

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1980
Selectivity of CDP-choline:diacylglycerol choline phosphotransferase and CDP-ethanolamine:diacylglycerol ethanolamine phosphotransferase for molecular species of diglyceride has been studied in rat brain microsomes in vitro.

Sebomic identification of sex- and ethnicity-specific variations in residual skin surface components (RSSC) for bio-monitoring or forensic applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: “Residual skin surface components” (RSSC) is the collective term used for the superficial layer of sebum, residue of sweat, small quantities of intercellular lipids and components of natural moisturising factor present on the skin surface ...

Incorporation of [2-3H]glycerol into rat brain 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphorylcholine and 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycerol molecular species in vivo

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1974
Rat brain 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycerols (diglycerides) and 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycerols obtained from 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphorylcholine after treatment with phospholipase C differ markedly in carbon number distribution.

Cocoa olein glycerolysis with lipase Candida antarctica in a solvent free system

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2020
In this paper we present the valorization of cocoa olein obtained from the acid fat-splitting of soapstocks. The aim is to develop a solvent free process (enzymatically catalyzed) to maximize the production of a final product with high content of ...

Defective triglyceride biosynthesis in CETP-deficient SW872 cells

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2015
We previously reported that reducing the expression of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) disrupts cholesterol homeostasis in SW872 cells and causes an ∼50% reduction in TG.

Effect of acylglyceride content on the structure and function of reconstituted high density lipoprotein particles

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2001
The effects of different acylglycerides on the conformation and charge of apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) have been investigated in reconstituted high density lipoproteins (LpA-I).
