Synthesis and anticancer activity of new dihydropyrimidinone derivatives

European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2018
A series of dihydropyrimidinone derivatives bearing various N-heterocyclic moieties was designed and synthesized. Twelve new compounds were screened for their cytotoxic activity using 60 cancer cell lines according to NCI (USA) protocol. Compound 19 showed a significant activity against NCI-H460, SK-MEL-5, and HL-60 (TB) cell lines with growth ...

SAR studies on dihydropyrimidinone antibiotics [PDF]

open access: yesBioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2011
There is an urgent need for the development of novel antimicrobial agents that offer effective treatment against MRSA. Using a new class of dipeptide antibiotic TAN-1057A/B as lead, we designed, synthesized and evaluated analogs of TAN-1057A/B. Several novel dihydropyrimidinone antibiotics demonstrating comparable antibiotic efficacy while possessing ...

Synthesis and carbonic anhydrase inhibitory properties of tetrazole- and oxadiazole substituted 1,4-dihydropyrimidinone compounds [PDF]

open access: yesArtificial Cells, Nanomedicine and Biotechnology, 2014
A new series of tetrazole-, oxadiazole-and cyanosubstituted 1,4-dihydropyrimidinone compounds were synthesized, and their inhibitory effects on the activity of purified human carbonic anhydrase (hCA) I were evaluated.

Chromene-dihydropyrimidinone and xanthene-dihydropyrimidinone hybrids: design, synthesis, and antibacterial and antibiofilm activities

New Journal of Chemistry, 2023
A series of chromene-dihydropyrimidinone and xanthene-dihydropyrimidinone hybrid compounds were easily synthesized through a multicomponent reaction followed by the copper-catalyzed alkyne–azide cycloaddition reaction.

Synthesis and in vitro study of antiproliferative benzyloxy dihydropyrimidinones

Archiv der Pharmazie, 2021
AbstractIn this study, we report on antiproliferative benzyloxy dihydropyrimidinones (DHPMs) produced by the Biginelli reaction of benzyloxy benzaldehyde, urea, and diverse 1,3‐diones. The reaction was catalyzed by lanthanum triflate and completed within 1–1.5 h, with 74–97% yield.

Recent Advance in the Pharmacology of Dihydropyrimidinone

Mini-Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry, 2012
Dihydropyrimidinones (DHPMs) are a series of highly valuable small molecules possessing versatile pharmaceutical properties. Although the first one-pot synthesis of DHPMs had been reported more than 100 years ago, the fascinating achievement in DHPMs-based pharmacology during the past century promoted durative interests to the pharmacological and ...
