Construction of an Isonucleoside on a 2,6-Dioxobicyclo[3.2.0]-heptane Skeleton

open access: yesMolecules, 2015
We have built a new isonucleoside derivative on a 2,6-dioxobicyclo[3.2.0]heptane skeleton as a potential anti-HIV agent. To synthesize the target compound, an acetal-protected dihydroxyacetone was first converted to a 2,3-epoxy-tetrahydrofuran ...

Association of Nasal and Inhalant Corticosteroids With Pediatric Perioral Dermatitis: A TriNetX Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesPediatric Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Although topical corticosteroids are known triggers in the development of perioral dermatitis (PD), investigation into inhalant and nasal corticosteroid preparations, commonly used to manage allergic rhinitis and asthma, remains limited to case series.

Skeletal muscle adaptation to muscle activity and hypoxia: Differential structural and metabolic remodelling

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend There has been controversy about the structural (capillary) response of skeletal muscle to altered O2 status, involving decreased supply (hypoxia) or increased demand (activity). Here we demonstrate that seven days of activation of skeletal muscle by indirect electrical stimulation led to significant expansion of the capillary ...

Highly Thermally Stable and Efficient Ru/MAFO Catalysts for Glucose Hydrogenolysis to 1,2‐Propylene Glycol

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 9, September 2026.
A low‐loading (1.5 wt%) Ru/MAFO spinel catalyst with strong metal–support interaction achieves 100% glucose conversion and 59.3% 1,2‐PG selectivity. Its exceptional thermal stability and resistance to Ru sintering enable stable recycling, offering a highly active and durable system for sustainable biorefinery applications.

Real‐Time Investigation of Interfacial Evolution in Electrochemical Energy Storage Systems via EQCM

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 46, 17 August 2026.
Understanding the electrode/electrolyte interface (EEI) is crucial for supercapacitors and batteries. EQCM, by enabling real‐time monitoring of mass changes during charge–discharge cycles, has evolved into a vital method for analysis of EEI. It provides important insights into charge‐storage mechanisms, electrode structural evolution, ion‐transfer ...

CHEMICAL PROFILES OF HONEYS ORIGINATING FROM DIFFERENT FLORAL SOURCES AND GEOGRAPHIC LOCATIONS EXAMINED BY A COMBINATION OF THREE EXTRACTION AND ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES

open access: yesJournal of Fundamental and Applied Sciences, 2015
The chemical profiles of Tasmanian Leatherwood and Manuka honeys from Tasmania and New Zealand have been compared by a combination of GC-MS analysis of volatiles and semi-volatiles, RP-HPLC-DAD analysis of phenolics and flavonoids and HPLC-DAD analysis ...

Selected monosaccharides in cancer: Metabolic routing, post‐translational modification, immunity and therapeutic potential

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 4, August 2026.
Glucose, galactose, mannose and fructose can either fuel or fight tumours by rewiring metabolism and immunity. Their context‐dependent double‐edged nature suggests that precisely targeted monosaccharide interventions could become a new pillar of precision oncology.

Neutrophil‐based immunotherapy: A metabolic lens on mechanisms and therapeutic implications

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
TAN metabolic reprogramming critically contributes to tumour immune evasion. A 4‑Tier TAN‑MetaC classification framework is proposed, along with an overview of translational opportunities and bottlenecks for TAN metabolism‑targeted immunotherapies. Abstract Background Tumor‐associated neutrophils (TANs) serve as pivotal immune modulators in the tumor ...
