Pharmacokinetics of a Novel Diltiazem HCl Extended‐Release Tablet Formulation for Evening Administration

The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 2003
A novel diltiazem HCl extended‐release (ER) tablet formulation was developed for evening administration in the management of angina and hypertension. Pharmacokinetics of the formulation were evaluated to identify variations in morning (7 a.m. or 8 a.m.) versus evening (10 p.m.) drug administration.

Effect of solvent type on retardation properties of diltiazem HCl form liquisolid tablets

Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2014
Liquisolid technique is a new approach to formulate sustained release dosage forms. It seems that the solubility of an active ingredient in solvent plays an important role in drug release profile. The aim of present study was to investigate the effect of solvent type on diltiazem hydrochloride release profile from liquisolid compacts.

A combination of nonionic surfactants and iontophoresis to enhance the transdermal drug delivery of ondansetron HCl and diltiazem HCl

European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, 2012
The present work reports the evaluation of three nonionic ether-monohydroxyl surfactants (C(12)E(1), C(12)E(5,) and C(12)E(8)) as skin permeation enhancers in the transdermal drug delivery of two drugs: ondansetron hydrochloride and diltiazem hydrochloride, formulated as hydrogels. The enhancers are used alone, or in combination with iontophoresis (0.3

[A comparison between diltiazem SR and diltiazem HCL in the treatment of angina pectoris].

Zhonghua nei ke za zhi, 1993
This study included 168 patients with angina pectoris, who were divided into two groups, the diltiazem SR (No. 88) group and diltiazem HCL (No. 80) group. The two groups were comparable in age and duration of coronary heart disease. The results were as follows: (1) The total clinical effect of diltiazem SR (94.3%) was slightly greater than that of ...

A Validated UV Spectroscopic method for Quantification of Lidocaine HCl and Diltiazem HCl

A Simple and routinely used UV- Spectroscopic technique has been developed for estimating Lidocaine hydrochloride and Diltiazem hydrochloride in bulk and combined dosage form. The simultaneous estimation using first- order derivative analysis was 0.1 M HCl solvent, with scanning at wavelengths of 223 nm and 250 nm for quantifying lidocaine HCl and ...

Long-acting diltiazem HCL for the chronotherapeutic treatment of hypertension and chronic stable angina pectoris

Expert Opinion on Pharmacotherapy, 2005
Hypertension is associated with increased cardio- and cerebrovascular morbidity and mortality; antihypertensive drugs have been shown to reduce the risk of adverse cardio- and cerebrovascular events. These events tend to be more common during the morning hours, a time when both normo- and hypertensives show a circadian peak in blood pressure (BP ...

In vivo performance of controlled release pellets of diltiazem HCl.

Pakistan journal of pharmaceutical sciences, 2006
The test formulation of controlled release diltiazem pellets was evaluated in vivo, in comparison with Herbesser SR. Six healthy volunteers participated in the study, conducted according to a randomized, two-way crossover study design. The preparations were compared using the pharmacokinetic parameters plasma concentration-time curve (AUC(0- infinity)),
