Oxidation Products of Retinylidene Dimedone
Helvetica Chimica Acta, 1980AbstractSeveral oxidation products of the retinoid retinylidene dimedone (RD) have been synthesized and characterized for biological testing in the expectation that they may be found as metabolites of RD.

The Crystal Structure of Dimedone
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1975Dimedone, C8H12O2, crystallizes with monoclinic symmetry, a = 10.079(7), b = 6.835(3), c = 12.438(4) Å, β = 110.24(5)°, space group P21/n and Z = 4. The structure of this compound was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares techniques using 1205 unique reflections to a final R of 0.047.

Synthesis of Antipyrine Derivatives Derived from Dimedone
Chinese Journal of Chemistry, 2007AbstractCoupling of dimedone with the diazonium salt of 4‐aminoantipyrine afforded 2,3‐dimethyl‐4‐[2‐(5,5‐dimethyl‐ 2,6‐dioxocyclohex‐2‐ylidend)‐hydrazino]‐5‐oxo‐1‐phenylpyrazoline (3). Reaction of 3 with excess phenylhydrazine gave the mixed trishydrazone derivative 4.

Unsymmetrical three-carbon condensations with dimedone
Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, 1967Condensing together equimolecular amounts of dimedone, an aldehyde, and s-aminocrotonic ester gives derivatives of 3-ethoxycarbonyl-2, 7, 7-trimethyl-5-keto-1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8-hexahydroquinoline (IVa-c); of these, compounds IVb and IVc can be oxidized by chromic anhydride to 3-ethoxycarbonyl-2, 7, trimethyl-5-keto-5, 6, 7, 8-tetrahydroquinolines (Vb, c).

Spectrophotofluorimetric determination of aldehydes with dimedone and other reagents
Mikrochimica Acta, 1968Two new reagents, dimedone and 1,3-cyclohexanedione, are introduced for the fluorimetric determination of aliphatic aldehydes. Six fluorimetric methods for the determination of formaldehyde and other aldehydes have been compared. Of the selective methods for the determination of formaldehyde the J-acid procedure is recommended when a high order of ...

Formaldehyde, as its dimedone adduct, fromAscophyllum nodosum
Journal of Applied Phycology, 1996Formaldehyde, as its dimedone adduct (formaldemethone), has been isolated fromAscophyllum nodosum and characterised by thin-layer and overpressured layer chromatography, and from proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic and electron impact mass spectrometric data. Formaldemethone was detected in extracts of both fresh and dry alga.

Reaction of acyl(aroyl) isocyanates with dimedon
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1981The benzoyl and trichloroacetyl isocyanates react with dimedon to give the [4 + 2]-cycloadducts and the O- and C-addition products, whereas trifluoroacetyl isocyanate reacts to give the acid azomethine. © 1982 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
