Diclofenac solution (Pennsaid) in the management of osteoarthritis of the knee : Patient implications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Topical diclofenac sodium (pennsaid) is a non-steroidal-anti- inflammatory drug that is used to manage the recurrent pain and symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee. Pennsaid is applied topically, absorbed cutaneously and concentrates locally at the site

Harnessing autophagy to overcome mitogen‐activated protein kinase kinase inhibitor‐induced resistance in metastatic melanoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background Patients with malignant melanoma often relapse after treatment with BRAF and/or mitogen‐activated protein kinase kinase (MEK) inhibitors (MEKi) owing to development of drug resistance.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Bis{μ-2,2′-[(3-azapentane-1,5-diyl)bis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenolato}dicopper(II) dimethyl sulfoxide disolvate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2008
The title compound, [Cu2(C18H19N3O2)2]·2C2H6OS or [Cu2(SalenN3H)2]·2DMSO, where SalenN3H is the multidentate Schiff base 2,2′-[(3-azapentane-1,5-diyl)bis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenolate dianion and DMSO is dimethyl sulfoxide, is a ...

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Diaqua[(E)-2-(2-oxidobenzylideneamino)-2-phenylacetato]zinc(II) dimethyl sulfoxide monosolvate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2009
In the title compound, [Zn(C15H11NO3)(H2O)2]·C2H6OS, the Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two O atoms and one N atom of the deprotonated chelate ligand and two water molecules in a distorted trigonal bipyramidal coordination environment.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Fire-resistant phosphorus containing polyimides and copolyimides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
Phosphorus-containing polyimides and copolyimides are synthesized in a two-step polycondensation reaction from 1- (diorganooxyphosphonl)methly 2,4- and 2,6-diaminobenzenes and tetracarboxylic anhydride. The diorgano position of the diorganooxyphosphonyl

Conformational Preferences of 3-(Dimethylazinoyl)propanoic Acid as a Function of pH and Solvent; Intermolecular versus Intramolecular Hydrogen Bonding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The conformational equilibrium of 3-(dimethylazinoyl)propanoic acid (DMAPA, azinoyl = N^+(O^−) has a weak pH-dependence in D_2O, with a slight preference for trans in alkaline solutions.
