Dimethylnitrosamine in frankfurters

Food and Cosmetics Toxicology, 1972
Summary Samples of frankfurters from eight large producers were analysed for N,N -dimethylnitrosamine (DMNA), using gas chromatography, with an alkali-flame ionization detector for quantitative analysis and a mass spectrometer for confirmation. Only trace levels of a compound that was apparently DMNA were found in the products of five manufacturers.

Acute Dimethylnitrosamine Poisoning Outbreak

Journal of Forensic Sciences, 1980
Abstract In an 8-h period, five members of two kindred families suddenly became ill with nausea, vomiting, and malaise. This was followed by acute liver disease, a generalized bleeding tendency, and a low platelet count. Two of the patients died four and five days after onset of illness.

Photodissociation of dimethylnitrosamine

Chemical Physics Letters, 1981
Abstract Photodissociation of (CH 3 ) 2 N-NO following S 1 (nπ * ) ← S 0 excitation yields (CH 3 ) 2 N − and NO with a quantum yield of 1.03 ± 0.10. These fragments recombine leaving no stable photopioducts. A fraction of NO produced by photolysis is vibrationally excited.

Schwingungsspektren isotoper dimethylnitrosamine

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular Spectroscopy, 1971
Abstract Vibrational spectra of seven isotopic dimethylnitrosamines in different states of aggregation and solvents have been obtained. An assignment of the observed frequencies to the normal vibrations is given, which is based essentially on the isotopic frequency shifts.
