Repair synthesis and sedimentation analysis of DNA of human cells exposed to dimethylnitrosamine and activated dimethylnitrosamine

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1973
Abstract The capacity of dimethylnitrosamine(DMN), and of DMN activated by a NADPH-fortified mouse liver microsomal preparation, to elicit DNA alterations in cultured human fibroblasts was examined. A maximum induction of DNA repair synthesis, estimated by unscheduled incorporation of tritiated thymidine, occurred following 60-minute incubation of ...

Incorporation of tritiated dimethylnitrosamine into subcellular fractions of mouse liver after long term administration of dimethylnitrosamine

Zeitschrift fr Krebsforschung, 1969
One hour after intraperitoneal injection of DMN-3H into control mice the highest specific activity was in the supernatant fraction followed by mitochondrial, microsomal, and nuclear fractions. Although 50–80 percent of the radioactivity was removed by washing with acid and lipid solvents in the former three fractions, little radioactivity was extracted

[Biotransformation of dimethylnitrosamine].

Journal de toxicologie clinique et experimentale, 1991
NDMA, one of the most widely occurring carcinogenic compounds in the environment, is present in human food (meat, vegetables, cheese and alcohol beverages), in drinking water, in drugs, in cosmetics, in tobacco and its smokes. Furthermore NDMA may be synthesized from nitrates and nitrites and endogen or exogen amines.

Mineral metabolism in dimethylnitrosamine-induced hepatic fibrosis

Clinical Biochemistry, 2006
Complications such as ascites during the pathogenesis of hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis may lead to several abnormalities in mineral metabolism. In the present investigation, we have monitored serum and liver concentrations of calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium during experimentally induced hepatic fibrosis in rats. The liver injury was induced by

Raman and Infrared Spectra of Dimethylnitrosamine

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1970
The Raman and infrared spectra of (CH3)2NNO, (CH3)2N15NO, and (CD3)2NNO were recorded in the liquid state. For (CH3)2NNO, gas-phase infrared spectra, Raman depolarization measurements, and the Raman spectra of solid polycrystalline samples were also obtained. A vibrational assignment for the 27 fundamental modes is proposed on the basis of Cs symmetry.

Renal Hyperplasia and Neoplasia in Rats Given Dimethylnitrosamine

Urologia Internationalis, 1966
Multiple foci of hyperplasia and neoplasia were induced in the kidney of rats that had been dosed orally with dimethylnitrosamine. The younger rats and the male sex had a greater incidence of renal tumors. The hyperplastic or necplastic lesions were classified into two groups on the basis of their histogenesis, namely that of tubular epithelial origin ...

[Immune and hormonal response to dimethylnitrosamine].

Voprosy onkologii, 1984
The study was concerned with assay of levels of 11- HOCS in blood and adrenal tissues and antibody-producing cells in the spleen as well as spontaneous rosette-formation by blood thymic and splenic lymphocytes in the course of carcinogenesis induced in experimental animals by nitrosodimethylamine treatment.
