ABSTRACT Humans are chronically exposed to mixtures of environmental contaminants. Exposure to endocrine‐disrupting chemicals (EDCs) contributes to increased health impairment observed globally. This study aimed to evaluate the endocrine‐disruptive and oxidative stress potential of a human‐relevant, complex chemical mixture in vitro.

Public Health Burden of E-waste in Africa
Background. Environmental impacts from informal e-waste recycling are increasing in Africa. E-waste handling and disposal exposes people to highly toxic cocktails of heavy metals, brominated flame retardants, non-dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls ...

Shotgun metagenomic sequencing was used to characterize the functional potential of the Allium ampeloprasum rhizosphere microbiome under chemical fertilizer (G1), biofertilizer (G2), and unfertilized (Bulk) soil (G3) management practices. This study revealed that different fertilization regimes altered microbial functional profiles.

Update of the risk assessment on dioxins and dioxin‐like PCBs in feed and food
Abstract The European Commission asked EFSA to update its 2018 risk assessment on polychlorinated dibenzo‐p‐dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) and dioxin‐like polychlorinated biphenyls (DL‐PCBs) in feed and food, based on the 2022 WHO Toxic Equivalency Factors (WHO2022‐TEFs).

Exposure to polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), which are persistent lipophilic environmental pollutants, has a variety of adverse effects on wildlife and human health, including bone mineralization, growth and mechanical strength. The present study evaluated the effects of lactational exposure to nondioxin-like PCB-155 and dioxin-like PCB-169 ...

Statement on the findings presented in the Toxicological Profile for Mercury issued by the US ATSDR
Abstract The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) was requested by the European Commission to deliver a statement on the findings presented in the Toxicological Profile for Mercury issued by the US Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) in 2024. The statement was endorsed by the CONTAM Panel before approval by EFSA. Although some key
