Effect of diphenyl diselenide on the development of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis

open access: yesNeurochemistry International, 2011
Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) is a T cell-mediated inflammatory and demyelinating disease of the central nervous system with clinical and pathological similarities with multiple sclerosis. The oxidative stress is one of the major mediators of demyelination and axonal damage in both, multiple sclerosis and EAE.

Cytotoxic, Genotoxic, and Mutagenic Effects of Organotellurane RF07 in Female Swiss Mice (Mus musculus)

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The organotellurane RF07 (RF07) is an organic compound containing tellurium, a rare semi‐metal, and its leishmanicidal and antimalarial activity has already been reported in previous studies. This study evaluated the toxic effects of RF07 at 0.42, 21.37, and 42.75 mg/kg using comet assay, micronucleus test, and hematological/biochemical tests ...

Switchable Magnesium Catalysis: Dehydrogenative Borylation Versus Hydroboration of Terminal Alkynes

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 3, March 2026.
Magnesium at the centre: A switchable magnesium catalyst enables selective dehydrogenative borylation or hydroboration of terminal alkynes. Organoboranes are key intermediates in modern synthetic chemistry, yet their preparation often relies on precious metal catalysts and multistep protocols.

The 125Te Chemical Shift of Diphenyl Ditelluride: Chasing Conformers over a Flat Energy Surface

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
The interest in diphenyl ditelluride (Ph2Te2) is related to its strict analogy to diphenyl diselenide (Ph2Se2), whose capacity to reduce organic peroxides is largely exploited in catalysis and green chemistry.

From Light‐Driven to Dark Synthesis: Streamlining Perfluoroalkyl Selenide Ether Formation

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 5, 7 February 2026.
Two orthogonal and user‐friendly protocols enable the efficient construction of (Se/S)RF bonds from simple dichalcogenides and perfluoroalkyl iodides. Visible‐light irradiation at 395 nm promotes seleno‐ and thioether formation, while a dark KOH/MeCN variant delivers selenoethers in minutes. Both approaches operate under mild, metal‐ and photocatalyst‐

Wafer‐Scale Synthesis of Mithrene and its Application in UV Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 15, 19 February 2026.
A controlled tarnishing step on the silver surface precedes the solid‐vapor‐phase chemical transformation into silver phenylselenolate thin films. The approach yields crystals exceeding 1 µm with improved in‐plane orientation. Integration on graphene phototransistors demonstrates high photoresponsivity, positioning mithrene as a promising material for ...

Methyl jasmonate and diphenyl diselenide attenuate diethylnitrosamine and carbon tetrachloride-induced nephrotoxicity in rats via modulation of inflammation and oxidative stress processes

open access: yesNigerian Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences
The pathogenesis of toxicity-mediated renal injury has been linked to reactive oxygen species. Therefore, intervention with antioxidant agents as part of therapeutic strategies is necessary.

Reaction of bis[(2-chlorocarbonyl)phenyl] Diselenide with Phenols, Aminophenols, and Other Amines towards Diphenyl Diselenides with Antimicrobial and Antiviral Properties

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
A reaction of bis[(2-chlorocarbonyl)phenyl] diselenide with various mono and bisnucleophiles such as aminophenols, phenols, and amines have been studied as a convenient general route to a series of new antimicrobial and antiviral diphenyl diselenides ...

Beyond Traditional RAFT Polymerization: Emerging Strategies and Future Perspectives; A Third Update

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 12, 27 February 2026.
This review explores recent advances in the past five years for non‐traditional RAFT polymerization, focusing on new activation strategies, sustainable depolymerization, and integration with automated and AI‐driven synthesis. Together, these innovations advance polymer chemistry and reveal how the pieces of the non‐traditional RAFT puzzle are steadily ...
