DESICCATION OF SUNFLOWER WITH DIQUAT
Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1985Diquat was applied at 0.3 kg (a.i.)/ha to sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) at various stages of maturity in a 3-yr study to determine its effects on some agronomic and quality characteristics. The applications effectively hastened drying of the leaves and heads but stem drying was variable.

1968Since the discovery of their herbicidal potential in the mid-1950’s, the dipyridylium herbicides 1,1’-dimethyl-4,4’-bipyridinium salts (paraquat) and 6,7-dihydrodipyrido[1,2-a:2’, l’- c]pyrazinediium salts (diquat) have been used extensively for control and management of terrestrial and aquatic vegetation.
