Instantaneous power control - an alternative to vector and direct torque control?
This paper presents a new algorithm for the control of AC machines based on the concept of controlling the instantaneous real and imaginary power. This strategy, called Instantaneous Power Control (IPC), allows decoupled control of the torque and flux in

Optically confined gold nanorods exhibit cooperative light‐driven dynamics, forming mobile end‐to‐end dimers with orientation‐dependent propulsion. Using structured laser traps and an opto‐thermo‐hydrodynamic model, we uncover how optical binding, polarization‐induced torque, and near‐surface hydrodynamics govern their motion.

A new stopped‐flow instrument allows kinetic measurements of reactions 10 milliseconds after initiating them by mixing in a flow cell inserted into a standard NMR probe and spectrometer. High‐speed video, pressure and NMR line‐shape data are used to characterise mixing and stopping, and a protodeboronation reaction with a 5‐millisecond half‐life used ...

ABSTRACT This study explores the nonlinear dynamics associated with a passive dynamic walker (PDW), focusing on the bifurcation and stability insights derived from spring and damper mechanics. PDWs, which rely on gravity for stable locomotion without active control, exhibit a rich spectrum of behaviors, from periodic to chaotic motion.
