Multiple Volume Reflection from Different Planes Inside One Bent Crystal

open access: yes, 2007
It is shown that multiple volume reflections from different planes of one bent crystal becomes possible when particles move at a small angle with respect to a crystal axis.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Some Properties of Positive Solutions for Nonlinear Systems Involving Pseudo-Relativistic Operators

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
In this paper, we mainly investigate the radial symmetry and monotonicity of positive solutions for a nonlinear system involving pseudo-relativistic operators and fractional derivatives of order (0,1).

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Moving planes and sliding methods for fractional elliptic and parabolic equations

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies
In this paper, we summarize some of the recent developments in the area of fractional elliptic and parabolic equations with focus on how to apply the sliding method and the method of moving planes to obtain qualitative properties of solutions.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

The properties of a new fractional g-Laplacian Monge-Ampère operator and its applications

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis
In this article, we first introduce a new fractional gg-Laplacian Monge-Ampère operator: Fgsv(x)≔infP.V.∫Rngv(z)−v(x)∣C−1(z−x)∣sdz∣C−1(z−x)∣n+s∣C∈C,{F}_{g}^{s}v\left(x):= \inf \left\{\hspace{0.1em}\text{P.V.}\hspace{0.1em}\mathop{\int }\limits_{{{\mathbb{

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Non-existence, radial symmetry, monotonicity, and Liouville theorem of master equations with fractional p-Laplacian

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis
In this article, first, we introduce a new operator (∂t−Δp)su(z,t)=Cn,sp∫−∞t∫Rn∣u(z,t)−u(ζ,ϱ)∣p−2(u(z,t)−u(ζ,ϱ))(t−ϱ)n2+1+sp2e−∣z−ζ∣24(t−ϱ)dζdϱ,{\left({\partial }_{t}-{\Delta }_{p})}^{s}u\left(z,t)={C}_{n,sp}\underset{-\infty }{\overset{t}{\int }}\mathop{
