Direct numerical simulation of inclusion floating and collision behavior in molten steel using the lattice Boltzmann method

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
The floating and collision behavior of inclusions in the floating process was numerically simulated by using the Lattice Boltzmann method. It is found that the floating velocity simulation results of different size inclusion particles are almost the same

Homologous expression and purification of human HAX‐1 for structural studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol provides detailed instructions for cloning, expressing, and purifying large quantities of the intrinsically disordered human HAX‐1 protein, N‐terminally fused to a cleavable superfolder GFP, from mammalian cells. HAX‐1 is predicted to undergo posttranslational modifications and to interact with membranes, various cellular ...

Numerical simulation and evaluation of spacer-filled direct contact membrane distillation module

open access: yesApplied Water Science, 2020
Membrane fouling and temperature polarization are the most common issues that cause limitations to membrane distillation (MD) process. Integration of spacers has been proven to resolve those problems by inducing regions of turbulence and giving the ...

Molecular determinants of signal transduction in tropomyosin receptor kinases

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tropomyosin receptor kinases control critical neuronal functions, but how do the same receptors produce diverse cellular responses? This review explores the structural mechanisms behind Trk signaling diversity, focusing on allosteric modulation and ligand bias.

Direct numerical simulation for investigation on yaw angle effects on riblets

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2017
The yaw angle (φ) effect on riblets are investigated by parametrically conducted direct numerical simulation (DNS). Three configurations are adopted: standard straight riblet, sinusoidal riblet, and modified sinusoidal riblet. The height of the side wall

TMC4 localizes to multiple taste cell types in the mouse taste papillae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Transmembrane channel‐like 4 (TMC4), a voltage‐dependent chloride channel, plays a critical role in amiloride‐insensitive salty taste transduction. TMC4 is broadly expressed in all mature taste cell types, suggesting a possible involvement of multiple cell types in this pathway.
