Interpolation‐based parametric model order reduction of automotive brake systems for frequency‐domain analyses

open access: yesGAMM-Mitteilungen, Volume 46, Issue 1, March 2023., 2023
Abstract Brake squeal describes noise with different frequencies that can be emitted during the braking process. Typically, the frequencies are in the range of 1 to 16 kHz. Although the noise has virtually no effect on braking performance, strong attempts are made to identify and eliminate the noise as it can be very unpleasant and annoying.

Methods of Model Order Reduction for Coupled Systems Applied to a Brake Disc‐Wheel Composite

open access: yesProceedings in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Volume 22, Issue 1, March 2023., 2023
Abstract In this contribution, investigations on model order reduction for coupled systems composed from components of a passenger car are shown. In today's development processes, the simulation of mechanical components is indispensable and large Finite Element models are often used for this purpose.

Mechanism Analysis of a Low-Frequency Disc Brake Squeal Based on an Energy Feed-In Method for a Dual Coupling Subsystem

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2020
Brake squeal is a major component of vehicle noise. To explore the mechanism of the low-frequency brake squeal, a finite element model of an automobile disc brake was established, and a complex mode numerical simulation was performed.

A new shape optimization with robustness and its application for brake squeal phenomena

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2016
This paper proposes a new shape optimization with robustness, and its application for disc brake squeal phenomena is shown. The disc brake squeal is known as self-excited vibration; the real and imaginary parts of the complex eigenvalue indicate the ...
