Direct Visualization of Disulfide Bonds through Diselenide Proxies Using 77Se NMR Spectroscopy
Angewandte Chemie, 2009Se-ing is believing: Many proteins are cross-braced by disulfide bonds that frequently play key roles in protein structure, folding, and function. Unfortunately, the methods available for assignment of disulfide-bond connectivities in proteins are technically difficult and prone to misinterpretation. Now disulfide bond connectivities in native proteins

AbstractWavelength‐controlled dynamic processes are mostly based on light‐triggered isomerization or the cleavage/formation of molecular connections. Control over dynamic metathesis reactions by different light wavelengths, which would be useful in controllable dynamic chemistry, has rarely been studied.

Accurate ab initio calculations reveal that, in contrast with what has been commonly assumed up to now, electron attachment to diselenides does not always result in a Se-Se bond fission and, in general, the mechanism behind the bond fission may involve the crossing of several states.

Thermal induced shape‐memory and self‐healing of segmented polyurethane containing diselenide bonds
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2018ABSTRACTHerein, we synthesized a series of polyurethane copolymers (PUs) with poly(1,4‐butylene adipate) glycol as soft segment and 2,4‐toluene diisocyanate as well as extenders including 1,4‐butanediol and di(1‐hydroxyethylene) diselenide as hard segment.

Abstract A new diselenide crosslinked polyurethane nanogel was developed, which could respond to pH change and oxidaiton condition. Firstly, PEGylated polyurethane (MPEG-PUBM-MPEG) containing tertiary amino and Br groups was prepared, which can assemble into micelles in aqueous solution. Then the nanogels with diselenides crosslinked polyurethane (PU)

Ultrasound‐Triggered Diselenide Bonds Scission for On‐Demand Drug Release in Osteoarthritis Therapy
Advanced Functional MaterialsABSTRACT Disruption of chondrocyte redox homeostasis is a critical pathogenic factor in osteoarthritis (OA). Selenium (Se), an essential trace element, helps maintain redox balance by regulating 25 selenoproteins in human tissues. Based on this, we developed a Se‐based OA treatment strategy using a novel ultrasound‐responsive hydrogel
