Micromorphological Investigations of Intervertebral Disk Degeneration using Electron Microscopy
Introduction Intervertebral disk (ID) degeneration can be distinguished by various changes in the tissue structure like delamination and crack formation of the collagenous matrix as well as cellular changes like cell aging and variances in the amount and

Relaxor Ferroelectricity Enables Enhanced Thermoelectric Performance in In2Se3‐Alloyed GeTe
A non‐equimolar In3+/Se2− alloying strategy creates Ge vacancies in GeTe, inducing relaxor ferroelectricity that broadens the low thermal conductivity window. Simultaneously, cubic phase stabilization broadens optimal electrical transport, achieving an average zT > 1.0 over 330–625 K.

Different Origins of Intervertebral Disk Degeneration in the Upper and Lower Lumbar Spine
Introduction The “weak link” in the thoracolumbar spine is the vertebral body endplate, which is easily damaged in compression. Vertebral endplate fracture can decompress the adjacent intervertebral disk and allow the annulus to collapse inwards.

Large‐scale whole‐exome sequencing in 356,982 UK Biobank participants defines the protein‐coding architecture of retinal structure, visual function, and major blinding diseases. Pleiotropic genes, including CFI, C3, and RIOX1, bridge multiple retinal phenotypes, while experimental validation of FYB2 implicates RPE barrier dysfunction, providing ...

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

No Difference in Lumbar Disk Height between Operated and Nonoperated Patients at 9-Year Follow-Up
Introduction Degeneration of the lumbar spine is a common and age-related finding in the normal population (1;2). Several factors may contribute to lumbar disk degeneration, such as ageing, genetic, and fusion (3).

ABSTRACT Diabetic stroke is characterized by a hyperglycemic and pro‐inflammatory microenvironment that exacerbates neurovascular dysfunction. However, the blood–brain barrier (BBB) remains a formidable obstacle, restricting the delivery of most therapeutic molecules.

Background: After single disk herniation operation, about 5-20% recurrences may occur. Different etiology may affect the prevalence of recurrence. Disk degeneration according to Modic and Los Angles scales could affect recurrence rate.

A biomimetic doppelgänger nanosystem neutralizes extracellular inflammatory cytokines and silences intracellular pyroptosis, reprogramming pathogenic macrophages to attenuate both joint and spine degeneration. ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) and intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) are debilitating musculoskeletal disorders driven by shared ...
