Biofilms as potential reservoirs of antimicrobial resistance in vulnerable settings
Antimicrobial resistance is a major global health threat, characterized by the ability of microorganisms to withstand the effects of antimicrobial agents. Biofilms, as unique microbial communities, significantly contribute to this threat.

Vision‐based multipoint displacement measurement for structural health monitoring
A novel noncontact vision sensor for simultaneous measurement of structural displacements at multiple points using one camera is developed based on two advanced template matching techniques: the upsampled cross correlation (UCC) and the orientation code ...

Mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation is stimulated by red light irradiation
Light at different wavelengths has distinct effects on keratinocyte viability and metabolism. UVA light abrogates metabolic fluxes. Blue and green light have no effect on metabolic fluxes, while red light enhanced oxidative phosphorylation by promoting fatty acid oxidation. Keratinocytes are the primary constituents of sunlight‐exposed epidermis.

Vacuolar transport and function of Saccharomyces cerevisiae sterol ester hydrolase Tgl1
Tgl1, one of yeast sterol ester hydrolases, had been found on the lipid droplets where sterol esters are mainly stored. This study revealed that Tgl1 is transported into the vacuole depending on the ESCRT‐I–III complex, and that it exhibits intra‐vacuolar sterol ester hydrolase activity.

Probiotic Effect of Streptococcus dentisani on Oral Pathogens: An In Vitro Study
Probiotics, including Streptococcus dentisani, have been proposed as an alternative to re-establish the ecology of the oral cavity and inhibit the formation of pathogenic biofilms. The main objective of this work was to assess the probiotic ability of S.
