Displacements

open access: yes, 2023
Displacements is a music and video performance that thematizes the recording of walks in public spaces (a relatively recent and popular genre of videos on streaming platforms). In a place built to organize human displacements, a moving observer registers passing bodies: their directions, flows and speeds superimposed on the shades and forms of the ...

Why Are Older Workers At Greater Risk of Displacement? [PDF]

open access: yes
The conventional wisdom says that older workers are less likely to be displaced than younger workers. While true in the past, the conventional wisdom is no longer true today; the advantage that older workers had has disappeared. This loss of relative job

Efficient current-induced domain-wall displacement SrRuO3

open access: yes, 2007
We demonstrate current-induced displacement of ferromagnetic domain walls in sub-micrometer fabricated patterns of SrRuO3 films. The displacement, monitored by measuring the extraordinary Hall effect, is induced at zero applied magnetic field and its ...

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Un/doing Displacement in Vienna: Tenants’ Agency and Their Co-Produced Spatio-Temporal Experiences Under Economic Pressure

open access: yesUrban Planning
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the ongoing housing crisis has escalated for tenants in Vienna, Austria. Embedded in a welfare-state environment that hinders eviction, this article considers under-explored everyday forms of displacement and tenants’ agency ...

Vision‐based multipoint displacement measurement for structural health monitoring

open access: yes, 2016
A novel noncontact vision sensor for simultaneous measurement of structural displacements at multiple points using one camera is developed based on two advanced template matching techniques: the upsampled cross correlation (UCC) and the orientation code ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Finite element analysis of the influence of implant tilting and the direction of loading on the displacement and micromotion of immediately loaded implants

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences
Objectives: To investigate the outcome of the loading direction and implant tilting on the micromotion and displacement of immediately placed implants with finite element analysis (FEA).

Inversion of the Diffraction Pattern from an Inhomogeneously Strained Crystal using an Iterative Algorithm

open access: yes, 2007
The displacement field in highly non uniformly strained crystals is obtained by addition of constraints to an iterative phase retrieval algorithm. These constraints include direct space density uniformity and also constraints to the sign and derivatives ...

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.
