The Relationship Between Childhood Trauma and Shame: The Mediating Role of Dissociation
Previous research has found significant associations among childhood trauma, dissociation, and shame. Furthermore, the clinical literature suggests that dissociation may foster feelings of shame in individuals who were exposed to childhood trauma.

Simultaneous Heavy Ion Dissociation at Ultrarelativistic Energies [PDF]
We study the simultaneous dissociation of heavy ultrarelativistic nuclei followed by the forward-backward neutron emission in peripheral collisions at colliders.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Electron-Impact Dissociation of Vibrationally-Excited Molecular Hydrogen into Neutral Fragments
We present convergent close-coupling (CCC) calculations of electron-impact dissociation of vibrationally-excited molecular hydrogen into neutral fragments.

LOVTRAP, An Optogenetic System for Photo-induced Protein Dissociation
LOVTRAP is an optogenetic approach for reversible light-induced protein dissociation using protein A fragments that bind to the LOV domain only in the dark, with tunable kinetics and a >150-fold change in the dissociation constant (Kd).

Dissociation and ionization of small molecules steered by external noise
We show that ionization and dissociation can be influenced separately in a molecule with appropriate external noise. Specifically we investigate the hydrogen molecular ion under a stochastic force quantum mechanically beyond the Born-Oppenheimer ...

Field-induced dissociation of two-dimensional excitons in transition-metal dichalcogenides [PDF]
Generation of photocurrents in semiconducting materials requires dissociation of excitons into free charge carriers. While thermal agitation is sufficient to induce dissociation in most bulk materials, an additional push is required to induce efficient ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Scapulothoracic dissociation is a rare and potentially limb- and life-threatening injury, that results from high-energy trauma. Scapulothoracic dissociation has the potential to be overlooked in the acute setting, especially in the setting of polytrauma. Therefore, a careful search for this condition should be performed in all patients with high-energy

Recurrent Dissociative Fugue [PDF]
Dissociative fugue is a rarely reported diagnostic entity. It is one of the least understood and yet clinically one of the most fascinating disorders in mental health. Here, we describe a case of fugue in a 32-year-old man who was brought to mental hospital with complete loss of memory for events pertaining to identity of self.
