Estimating the Solubility, Solution Thermodynamics, and Molecular Interaction of Aliskiren Hemifumarate in Alkylimidazolium Based Ionic Liquids

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Estimating the solubility and solution thermodynamics parameters of aliskiren hemifumarate (AHF) in three different room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), Transcutol-HP (THP) and water are interesting as there is no solubility data available in the ...

First-Principles Thermodynamic Modeling of Hydrogen Dissolution in Metals

open access: yesActa Materialia
To efficiently explore and design alloys with excellent hydrogen permeability, it is critical to clarify the bottleneck steps in the hydrogen permeation process. Hydrogen dissolution is one of the most important elementary processes in hydrogen permeation, regarding not only hydrogen permeability but also the suppression of hydrogen embrittlement.

A thermodynamic discourse on the dissolution behavior of bioactive glasses

open access: yesBiomedical glasses, 2016
AbstractThe interaction between bioactive glass and body fluid is crucial for the special properties of this material, therefore a large number of experimental data is available in literature. However, a frame for systematic interpretation of these results in terms of understanding the mechanisms at the interface between glass and body medium and the ...

Rapid Microwave Plasma Engineering of HfO2/C@C Core‐Shell Fibrous Membrane Toward Flexible High‐Performance Electromagnetic Wave Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rapid microwave plasma torch engineering tunes crystal phases, carbon graphitization and oxygen‐vacancy defects in HfO2/C@C core‐shell fibrous membranes. Synergistic multi‐loss effects optimize impedance matching to deliver −65.75 dB reflection loss and a 7.37 GHz effective bandwidth for flexible electromagnetic wave absorption.

The dissolution of gold colloids in aqueous thiosulfate solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The kinetics of the dissolution of gold and silver colloids in ammoniacal thiosulfate solutions has been studied using oxygen, copper(II) or oxygenated copper(II) as oxidants at pH 9 - 11 and temperature 22oC to 48oC.

Kinetic and Thermodynamic Implications of some Commonly Used Rate Laws for Glass Dissolution

open access: yes, 2001
This report discusses the results of the examination of three rate laws for glass dissolution. These three are: SLDF, LDF/LDF and ZO/LDF. All three models can fit the results of static powder leach tests reasonably well.

Molecular mechanisms of CO2 mineralization on wetting nanoscale surfaces using molecular simulations and metadynamics

open access: yesNature Communications
Carbonatable minerals on earth have significant potential to act as gigatonne-scale CO2 sinks. Many carbon removal managements rely on CO2 mineralization on wetting mineral surfaces.

Urban Mining and Electrochemistry: Cyclic  Voltammetry Study of Acidic Solutions from  Electronic Wastes (Printed Circuit Boards) for  Recovery of Cu, Zn, and Ni

open access: yesMetals, 2017
We report potentiodynamic studies to characterize copper, nickel and zinc leaching solutions from electronic waste. The metals were leached using oxygen and sulfuric acid (pH = 1.5).
