Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Containment-Based Distributed Secondary Control for AC Shipboard Microgrids under General Noise
This paper investigates the secondary control problem of shipboard microgrids (SMGs) with a high percentage of new energy sources under general noise. Firstly, a polymorphic SMG model is constructed, which enables the software-defined functionality of ...

Distributional Generalization: A New Kind of Generalization
We introduce a new notion of generalization -- Distributional Generalization -- which roughly states that outputs of a classifier at train and test time are close *as distributions*, as opposed to close in just their average error. For example, if we mislabel 30% of dogs as cats in the train set of CIFAR-10, then a ResNet trained to interpolation will ...

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Dynamic frequency aggregation control strategy of meshed distribution virtual power plant
To fully leverage the characteristics of various distributed resources and the controllability of distribution grids for delivering higher-performance and dynamic ancillary services, a dynamic frequency aggregation control method for meshed distribution ...

Analyses of the Power Flow through Distributed Generator based on Unsynchronized Measurements [PDF]
Based on measurements taken from the main substation and the connections between distributed generators and micro-grids that are not in sync, this study suggests a new way to look at the load flow of distributed generation.

Exponential generalized distributions
Summary: We generalize the Fourier transform from the space of tempered distributions to a bigger space called exponential generalized distributions. For that purpose, we replace the Schwartz space \(\mathcal S\) by a smaller space \({\mathcal X}_0\) of smooth functions such that, among other properties, decay at infinity is faster than any exponential.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
