Distribution function of the spherulite dimensions and the microhardness of polypropylene
Polymer Mechanics, 1975The authors demonstrate the advantage of using mathematical statistics to construct the distribution function of the spherulite dimensions and the existence of correlations between the technological casting conditions of the polymer and the parameters of this function, on the one hand, and between these parameters and the microhardness, on the other.

Microstructure, Phase and Microhardness Distribution of Laser Deposited Ni-Based Amorphous Coating
International Journal of Surface Science and Engineering, 2009Ni59Zr16Ti13Si3Sn2Nb7 amorphous material was deposited by laser cladding onto Ti-3Al-5Mo-5V-4Cr-2Zr titanium alloy. Despite trials with wide range of process parameters, the present experiments were unable to retain complete amorphous surface microstructure after laser cladding.

Microhardness measurements of homogeneous and layered polymorphous PbSe films as well of the KCl and BaF2 substrates on which the films were deposited were undertaken. The interpretation of the experimental results lead to a formula describing more adequately the indentation size effect.

Effect of a Special ECAP Die Configuration on Microhardness Distributions in Pure Aluminum
Materials Science Forum, 2010Experiments were conducted to evaluate the feasibility of using a new ECAP die configuration in which there are arcs of curvature at the intersection of the two channels at both the outer and inner points. The experiments used a configuration in which the radii of curvature were identical at both the outer and inner points since calculations suggest ...

The structure of Ti-Ta welded joint and microhardness distribution over the cross section
Saratov Fall Meeting 2017: Optical Technologies in Biophysics and Medicine XIX, 2018In order to create highly efficient medical systems and measuring biosensors, an approach is frequently used, in which the constructive basis of the product is made of a high-strength biocompatible material (titanium, stainless steel), and the functional layer is made of a more expensive metal (Ta, Zr, Au, Pt, etc.) or ceramics (Ta 2 O 5 , ZrO 2 ...

We studied the microhardness of the wear-resistant coating obtained by laser powder surfacing on the surface of 420 stainless steel. The dependences between the treatment mode, the obtained hardness and the geometry of the coating are established. It is determined that when a total equal voltage is applied to all diodes, the generated radiation does ...

Al2O3-13% TiO2 based nanostructured ceramic coatings were prepared on the surface of NiCrAl alloy by Plasma Spraying technology. Compared to the micron ceramic coating (MCC), the average value of hardness of nanostructured ceramic coating (NCC) was much higher than that of MCC, and the NCC presents typical bi-modal distribution.

An experimental and finite element study of the effect of the multiplicity of wire drawing regime stages and wire drawing speed on microhardness distribution in steel wire cross section is conducted. Microhardness dependencies are obtained at the surface and within the center of wire on diameter for steel wire multistage drawing.

Nano composites are finding increased focus and their influence on improving the matrix properties are very attractive. But the success is fully dependent on the uniform distribution and dispersion of nano reinforcements in the matrix. Manufacturing process was found to have greater role in distribution of the reinforcements.
