Design of a nonlinear disturbance observer
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2000This paper presents a new disturbance observer based on the variable structure system theory for minimum-phase (with respect to the relationship between the disturbance and output) dynamical systems with arbitrary relative degrees. The model uncertainties and the nonlinear parts of the system are merged into the disturbance term and are regarded as a ...

Disturbance observers for constant disturbances
2019 16th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON), 2019The parameterization of linear disturbance observers for constant disturbances has been studied in this paper. By using the states and inputs of the system as variables, the parameterization under constant disturbances was obtained in frequency domain, the validity of the disturbance observer was proofed by simulation.

Disturbance decoupled functional observers
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1999Summary: If a state observer does not exist, it is possible to design a functional observer. Principally, this is also true for systems with unknown inputs (termed as disturbances). Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of disturbance decoupled functional observers for linear time-invariant systems are provided.

Observations of a Propagating Disturbance in Trace
Solar Physics, 1999TRACE observations from 13 June 1998 in 171 and 195 A wavelengths show a propagating disturbance, initiated near the origin of a C-class flare. The wave moves through and disrupts diffuse, overarching coronal loops. Only these overlying structures are affected by the wave; lower-lying coronal structures are unperturbed.

Synthesized Disturbance Observer for Vehicle Lateral Disturbance Rejection
2018 Annual American Control Conference (ACC), 2018Fast disturbance detection and compensation play an important role in vehicle steering control system. Disturbance observer (DOB) is an effective technique to compensate for the disturbance. However, the design procedure of the DOB requires a stable inverse of the plant and an additional $Q$ filter to guarantee the stability and the robustness to ...

Novel robust disturbance observer
ISA Transactions, 2020In this paper, a predictive disturbance observer (DOB) design is presented. The proposed DOB does not require a direct model of the process without the transport delay for prediction purposes. The primary advantage of the proposed DOB design is its simplicity due to usage of the prediction block (PB), which approximates the ideal anticipation object ...

Improvement of disturbance suppression based on disturbance observer
9th IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Motion Control, 2006., 2006This research focuses on improvement of disturbance suppression even under existence of observation noise. Disturbance observer is an effective tool to estimate and compensate disturbance. There is a problem, however, that it cannot accomplish desired disturbance suppression when a large observation noise exists.

Fault diagnosis with disturbance rejection performance based on disturbance observer
Proceedings of the 48h IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) held jointly with 2009 28th Chinese Control Conference, 2009In this paper, a new fault diagnosis approach presented for a class of non-linear systems with external urbances. The unknown disturbances are supposed to be rated by an exogenous system, where some classical assumptions on disturbances can be removed.
