De Novo Design of Multivalent α/β‐Peptides Mimicking Transcription Factors Targeting the CBP KIX Domain

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A modular, de novo α/β‐peptide design strategy allows fine‐tuning of ligand properties, resulting in multivalent ligands that simultaneously target separate binding sites on the protein surface. ABSTRACT Protein‐protein interactions that regulate gene expression in the nucleus are increasingly recognized as potential therapeutic targets but present ...

The disulphide cleavage derivative (C42-4) of 11′-deoxyverticillin A (C42) fails to induce apoptosis and genomic instability in HeLa cells

open access: yesMycology, 2023
Our previous study revealed 11’-deoxyverticillin A (C42), a natural product isolated from the Ophiocordyceps-associated fungus Clonostachys rogersoniana and a member of the epipolythiodioxopiperazines (ETPs), induced both apoptosis and autophagy in ...

On the Planarity of Heterocyclic Bay‐Substituted Perylenediimides: Insight into the Fluorescent Photoinduced Electron Transfer Sensing Framework

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Near‐infrared fluorescent pH indicators based on perylenediimide were constructed in a modular receptor–spacer–fluorophore–spacer–receptor format with heterocyclic amino moieties at the bay positions. Counterintuitively, the dibrominated intermediate with two heavy atoms is more emissive than the heterocyclic compounds.

Testican‐1‐MMP axis in tumour extracellular matrix (ECM) remodelling: interaction dynamics analysis and an in silico perspective

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract The extracellular matrix (ECM) plays a pivotal role in facilitating tumour development, invasiveness, metastasis, and immunoevasive processes through dynamic ECM remodelling processes. Testican‐1 (SPOCK1), an excretory matricellular proteoglycan, is suggested to exert a role in the facilitation of ECM remodelling processes through interacting ...

Evaluation of thiol/disulphide homeostasis as a novel predictor testing tool of early pregnancy viability

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2018
Objective: To evaluate serum dynamic thiol/disulphide concentrations in patients with suspected missed abortion (MA) and to determine whether this ratio has a predictive role in the viability in these pregnancies.

Corrosion Failure Analysis of Contactor Type Electrical Connection Components Used in Converter Valve Side Bushings

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As a commonly used bushing current‐carrying structure in recent years, contactor‐type electrical connection parts operate in a complex environment of electric, thermal and chemical corrosion for extended periods. With the increase of ultra‐high voltage (UHV) transmission capacity, its operating environment faces more stringent challenges, and ...

Active sites and thermostability of a non-specific nuclease from Yersinia enterocolitica subsp. palearctica by site-directed mutagenesis

open access: yesBiotechnology & Biotechnological Equipment, 2018
To identify the amino acid residues that are the critical factors contributing to the high catalytic activity and good thermostability of Yersinia enterocolitica subsp. palearctica non-specific nuclease (Y.

Changes in Serum Thiol-Disulphide Homeostasis in Sheep with Gastrointestinal Nematodes

open access: yesAnimals, 2021
This work aimed to evaluate the thiol-disulphide homeostasis in serum of lambs naturally infected by gastrointestinal nematodes presenting different levels of parasite load indirectly indicated by faecal worm egg counts (EPG).
