Diterpenes from Sideritis argyrea

open access: yesFitoterapia, 2001
The known ent-kaurene diterpenes 1-9 and a new ent-labdane, ent-6beta,8alpha-dihydroxylabda-13(16),14-diene (10), were isolated from the whole plant of Sideritis argyrea. Their structures were elucidated based on one- and two-dimensional NMR techniques and HRMS.

Constitutive and inducible oleoresin defenses share genetic architectures and mechanisms in Pinus taeda

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 5, Page 2966-2987, June 2026.
Summary The oleoresin defense system of loblolly pine (Pinus taeda) protects trees from insects and pathogens and is an important source of renewable biofuels and chemicals, but the genetic basis of oleoresin production is poorly understood. We characterized the genetic architecture of oleoresin flow, resin canal number, stem wood terpene content, and ...

Structure and Fungicidal Activity of Secondary Metabolites Isolated from Trichoderma hamatum b-3

open access: yesJournal of Fungi
Two new harziane diterpenes (1–2), five undescribed cyclonerane sesquiterpenes (3–7), and three known compounds, 11-cycloneren-3, 7, 10-triol (8), harziandione (9), and dehydroacetic acid (10), were isolated from Trichoderma hamatum b-3. Their structures

Terpendole E, a Kinesin Eg5 Inhibitor, Is a Key Biosynthetic Intermediate of Indole-Diterpenes in the Producing Fungus Chaunopycnis alba [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
SummaryTerpendole E is the first natural product inhibitor of kinesin Eg5. Because terpendole E production is unstable, we isolated and analyzed the terpendole E biosynthetic gene cluster, which consists of seven genes encoding three P450 monooxygenases (

Electrochemical Oxidation of Abietic and Dehydroabietic Acids for Sustainable Access to C‐7 and C‐15 Oxygenated Abietanes

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Batch and flow electrochemical methods enable direct C‐7 oxidation of abietic and dehydroabietic acids from colophony or their methyl derivatives to the corresponding ketones, while a mediated protocol enables additional C‐15 oxygenation, providing sustainable and selective routes to diversified abietane derivatives.

A New Languidulane Diterpenoid from Salvia mexicana var. mexicana

open access: yesMolecules, 2011
From the aerial parts of Salvia mexicana var. mexicana, two C-10 epimers (α and β) of salvimexicanolide were isolated. Our interpretation of the data, especially the 13C NMR, led us to conclude that the previously described 13C-NMR spectrum of the α ...

Bioinspired Microphase‐Engineered Binders for Silicon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Inspired by the tough exoskeleton of Phloeodes diabolicus, a bio‐based binder featuring LRA–click chemistry and hierarchical crosslinking forms well‐defined microphase‐separated structures that enable robust silicon anodes. This system promotes the formation of a LiF–rich, ultrathin SEI (∼17 nm) with high modulus and ionic conductivity, ensuring long ...

Spread and Population Dynamics of Rugulopteryx okamurae Across the Azores Archipelago (NE Atlantic)

open access: yesAquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, Volume 36, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Rugulopteryx okamurae is a recently introduced brown macroalga that has expanded rapidly across the Azores (NE Atlantic). This study provides an update of the archipelago‐wide spatial spread and the first assessment of its local population dynamics.
