Dynamic Control of ERG20 and ERG9 Expression for Improved Casbene Production in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2018
Production of plant metabolites in microbial hosts represents a promising alternative to traditional chemical-based methods. Diterpenoids are compounds with interesting applications as pharmaceuticals, fragrances and biomaterials. Casbene, in particular,

A temporal comparison of sex-aggregation pheromone gland content and dynamics of release in three members of the Lutzomyia longipalpis (Diptera: Psychodidae) species complex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Lutzomyia longipalpis is the South American vector of Leishmania infantum, the etiologic agent of visceral leishmaniasis (VL). Male L. longipalpis produce a sex-aggregation pheromone that is critical in mating, yet very little is known about

Chemical Profiling and Biological Activity of Copaiba Oil‐Resin Samples and Development of HPLC‐DAD Method for the Analysis of β‐Caryophyllene

open access: yesBiomedical Chromatography, Volume 40, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The Copaifera species are traditionally used for their anti‐inflammatory, antiseptic and healing properties. The objective of this study was to compare the chromatographic profiles of seven samples of copaiba oil‐resin with respect to chromatographic and physicochemical properties and to evaluate their biological activities.

Structure of Salvioccidentalin, a Diterpenoid with a Rearranged neo-Clerodane Skeleton from Salvia occidentalis

open access: yesMolecules, 2011
From the aerial parts of Salvia occidentalis (Labiatae) a new diterpenoid with a rearranged neo-clerodane skeleton was isolated. This new compound was named salvioccidentalin and its structure was established by spectroscopic means. A probable biogenetic

Random Relational Rules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Exhaustive search in relational learning is generally infeasible, therefore some form of heuristic search is usually employed, such as in FOIL[1]. On the other hand, so-called stochastic discrimination provides a framework for combining arbitrary numbers

Mapping the Technological and Pharmacological Landscape of Casearia sylvestris: An Evidence‐Based Prospection for Wound Healing and Pain Management

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 5, May 2026.
Technological prospection of Casearia sylvestris for wound healing reveals limited patent and scientific production, concentrated on topical formulations and associated analgesic and anti‐inflammatory properties. Key innovation gaps persist, including insufficient chemical and biological standardization, lack of clinical evidence, and restricted ...

Major Components of Epicuticular Wax From Fruit of the Canadian Prairies: Saskatoon Berry (Amelanchier alnifolia), Canadian Dwarf Sour Cherry (Prunus × kerrasis), Haskap (Lonicera caerulea), and Red Twinberry (Lonicera utahensis)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 128, Issue 5, May 2026.
Composition of chloroform extractable surface wax from fruit was determined by GC and GC/MS. The major components of Saskatoon berry wax were nonacosan‐10‐ol and nonacosane. Canadian sour cherry wax was enriched in the pentacyclic triterpenoids and haskap in nonacosan‐10‐ol and nonacosan‐5,10,‐diol. Red twinberry wax contained triterpenoids.
