Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Environmental DNA analysis of echinoderms and other invertebrates present in the Venice lagoon [PDF]

Consequences of environmental DNA pooling
DNA-based techniques are increasingly used to assess biodiversity both above- and belowground. Most effort has focussed on bioinformatics and sample collection, whereas less is known about the consequences of mixing collected environmental DNA (eDNA), post-extraction and pre-PCR.

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

The First International eDNA Workshop in Hong Kong: A beginner's guide for the next‐generation eDNA researcher [PDF]
The field of environmental DNA (eDNA) has rapidly advanced in recent years, providing a non-invasive and time-saving method for assessing biodiversity. The First International Environmental DNA (eDNA) Workshop in Hong Kong was held from 16 to 27 October ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

LiBird: A new universal primer enhancing avian environmental DNA metabarcoding
In recent years, global avian diversity has been in continuous decline. Traditional monitoring methods are often constrained by detectability limitations and observational challenges, which makes it difficult to fully characterize community structures ...

Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.
