Brigatinib treatment in a patient with advanced NSCLC with XPO1-ALK fusion: a case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
Patients with ALK-rearranged non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who are treated with ALK tyrosine kinase inhibitors (ALK TKIs) have better prognoses. In this case report, we provide evidence of a novel ALK fusion, XPO1-ALK (intergenic), identified by ...

A high-recovery, high-density targeted genotyping platform for cranberry. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Genome
Abstract The American cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) is a commercially important berry species native to North America. Cranberry is a popular fruit crop with many known health benefits. Thus far, genotyping‐by‐sequencing (GBS) was the only high‐throughput genotyping technique available in cranberry.

The Genetic Landscape of Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia in Greece

open access: yesClinical Genetics, EarlyView.
We investigated 112 Greek index‐cases with hereditary spastic paraplegia collected over > 25 years using NGS and MLPA. We identified a causative variant in 68 patients (60.7%), including 7 novel causative variants. This study presents a comprehensive overview of the phenotypic and genotypic spectrum of HSP in the Greek population.

Identification and evaluation of novel intergenic sites in the vaccinia virus genome for transgene insertion

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Oncology
Vaccinia virus (VACV) is widely used as a vaccine and oncolytic vector due to its safety profile and its capacity to accommodate exogenous DNA. However, its compact genome offers limited loci for transgene insertion without disrupting functional viral ...

Evolutionary Analysis of Transcriptional Regulation Mediated by Cdx2 in Rodents

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Our study (1) represented a first systematic analysis of species‐specific adaptation in the DNA binding pattern of transcription factor; (2) represented a first study of cis‐regulation between two reproductively isolated species by using a novel allodiploid system; (3) demonstrated a higher conservation of transcriptional output than that of DNA ...

Plant‐produced encapsulin displays non‐typhoidal Salmonella enterica antigens and assembles into mosaic nanoparticles

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
This study investigates the potential of encapsulin as an antigen display platform for the development of a candidate Salmonella vaccine for poultry. Encapsulin constructs were transiently expressed in Nicotiana benthamiana where they accumulated to high levels.

Multiple cis‐regulatory elements collaborate to control mdka expression in telencephalic neural stem cells of adult zebrafish during constitutive and regenerative neurogenesis

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
midkine‐a (mdka), a pan‐injury response gene in vertebrates, is precisely regulated in the zebrafish telencephalon by a modular cis‐regulatory architecture. This control ensures proper expression during development, adult brain homeostasis, and regeneration.

Exploiting DNA methylation in cassava under water deficit for crop improvement.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
DNA methylation plays a key role in the development and plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. This work aimed to evaluate the DNA methylation in contrasting cassava genotypes for water deficit tolerance.

Genome‐wide and gene‐specific DNA methylation across developmental stages in Pogonomyrmex californicus: A socially polymorphic ant

open access: yesInsect Molecular Biology, EarlyView.
Comparison between developmental stages (larvae, pupae, worker) in Pogonomyrmex californicus revealed significant stage‐specific differences in Gene Body Methylated frequencies. Methylation sites were highly correlated between WGBS and ONT in P. californicus Genome‐wide methylation was low (~3%) and highly clustered within gene bodies (GBM), especially

Genetic Determinants of Peanut‐Specific IgG4 Levels in the Context of Sustained Oral Peanut Exposure in the LEAP Study

open access: yesImmunology, EarlyView.
A cumulative genetic score based on IgG4‐associated variants explains a substantial proportion of variance in psIgG4 levels during sustained peanut consumption, highlighting strong gene‐by‐environment interactions. Our findings suggest that early, sustained peanut consumption, in combination with genetic factors, promotes a protective immune response ...
