Two sequence motifs from intergenic ncRNAs with significant similarity against known DNA motifs. [PDF]
For each comparison, the upper one is the known DNA motif, and the lower one is the intergenic ncRNA sequence motif.

MDM2 dependency in pediatric sarcomas is driven by a novel p53‐independent oncogenic cistrome alongside canonical p53 pathway suppression. This study introduces MDM2‐recruiting transcriptional and epigenetic machinery degraders (MDM2‐TEMADs) as a novel precision oncology modality.

Conserved Intergenic Elements and DNA Methylation Cooperate to Regulate Transcription at the il17 Locus [PDF]
Naive CD4(+) T cells can differentiate into distinct lineages with unique immune functions. The cytokines TGFβ and IL-6 promote the development of Th17 cells that produce IL-17, an inflammatory cytokine not expressed by other T helper lineages. To further understand how IL-17 production is controlled, we studied an ~120-kb genomic region containing the

A long intergenic non-coding RNA regulates nuclear localization of DNA methyl transferase-1 [PDF]
DNA methyl transferase-1 or DNMT1 maintains DNA methylation in the genome and is important for regulating gene expression in cells. Aberrant changes in DNMT1 activity and DNA methylation are commonly observed in cancers and many other diseases. Recently,

We establish a tBid‐mediated cell ablation system in axolotls, achieve rapid and efficient ablation of multiple cell types, including muscle stem cell, spinal cord cell, and connective tissue (CT) cells. We investigate the role of CT using tBid‐mediated CT ablation and identify its essential role for limb development and regeneration.

Patterns of intron sequence evolution in Drosophila are dependent upon length and GC content [PDF]
Introns comprise a large fraction of eukaryotic genomes, yet little is known about their functional significance. Regulatory elements have been mapped to some introns, though these are believed to account for only a small fraction of genome wide intronic

The study elucidates that paternal preconception stress can drive offspring hyperresponsivity of the stress system via hypomethylation of a specific DNA region in sperm. This key link is confirmed in a cohort of prospective fathers: the epigenetic alteration is associated with elevated stress hormone levels.

Silent but not static: accelerated base-pair substitution in silenced chromatin of budding yeasts. [PDF]
Subtelomeric DNA in budding yeasts, like metazoan heterochromatin, is gene poor, repetitive, transiently silenced, and highly dynamic. The rapid evolution of subtelomeric regions is commonly thought to arise from transposon activity and increased ...

Patterns of selective constraints in noncoding DNA of rice [PDF]
Background Several studies have investigated the relationships between selective constraints in introns and their length, GC content and location within genes. To date, however, no such investigation has been done in plants.

ABSTRACT Class Switch Recombination (CSR) is essential for generating high‐affinity antibody isotypes from IgM during adaptive humoral responses. Despite well‐established roles for various transcription factors, whether CSR is subject to dedicated post‐transcriptional control represents a significant gap in knowledge.
