Structure of the interleukin-2 tyrosine kinase Src homology 2 domain; comparison between X-ray and NMR-derived structures [PDF]
The crystal structure of the interleukin-2 tyrosine kinase Src homology domain (Itk SH2) is described and it is found that unlike in studies of this domain using NMR spectroscopy, cis-trans-prolyl isomerization is not readily detected in the crystal ...

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Mechanism of the blood-brain barrier modulation by cadherin peptides [PDF]
Aim: This study was aimed at finding the binding site on the human E-cadherin for Ala-Asp-Thr Cyclic 5 (ADTC5), ADTC7, and ADTC9 peptides as blood-brain barrier modulator (BBBM) for determining their mechanism of action in modulating the blood-brain ...

Position swapping and pinching in Bose-Fermi mixtures with two-color optical Feshbach resonances
We examine the density profiles of the quantum degenerate Bose-Fermi mixture of $^{174}$Yb-$^{173}$Yb, experimental observed recently, in the mean field regime.

Exciton swapping in a twisted graphene bilayer as a solid-state realization of a two-brane model [PDF]
It is shown that exciton swapping between two graphene sheets may occur under specific conditions. A magnetically tunable optical filter is described to demonstrate this new effect. Mathematically, it is shown that two turbostratic graphene layers can be

Delta 6 desaturase (FADS2) is a critical bifunctional enzyme required for PUFA biosynthesis. In some organisms, FADS2s have high substrate specificity, whereas in others, they have high catalytic activity. Previously, we analyzed the molecular mechanisms

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Domain swapping is a consequence of minimal frustration [PDF]
The same energy landscape principles associated with the folding of proteins into their monomeric conformations should also describe how these proteins oligomerize into domain-swapped conformations. We tested this hypothesis by using a simplified model for the epidermal growth factor receptor pathway substrate 8 src homology 3 domain protein, both of ...

Surface Diffusion in SnTe‐PbTe Monolayer Lateral Heterostructures
The lateral heterostructures between 2D materials often suffer from the interdiffusion at the interfaces. Here, a surface diffusion mechanism is found to be dominating at the interfaces between semiconducting SnTe and PbTe monolayers. Atomically sharp interfaces can be achieved by suppressing this diffusion process. ABSTRACT The construction of complex
