Domain-swapping analyses of ICR-Mo.
A. Schematic illustration for domain-swapping designing amongst the three transmembrane enzymes EptA, MCR-1 and ICR-Mo (AXE82_07515). B. Use of Western blotting to detect the expression of icr-Mo and its mosaic versions. C.

It has been hypothesized that prior to protein domain swapping, unfolding occurs in regions important for the stability of the native monomeric structure, which probably increases the possibility of intermolecular interaction.

Structural Insights into RNA Dimerization: Motifs, Interfaces and Functions
In comparison with the pervasive use of protein dimers and multimers in all domains of life, functional RNA oligomers have so far rarely been observed in nature.

Crystal structure of domain‐swapped STE20 OSR1 kinase domain [PDF]
AbstractOSR1 (oxidative stress‐responsive‐1) and SPAK (Ste20/Sps1‐related proline/alanine‐rich kinase) belong to the GCK‐VI subfamily of Ste20 group kinases. OSR1 and SPAK are key regulators of NKCCs (Na+/K+/2Cl− cotransporters) and activated by WNK family members (with‐no‐lysine kinase), mutations of which are known to cause Gordon syndrome, an ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Deciphering MCR-2 Colistin Resistance
Antibiotic resistance is a prevalent problem in public health worldwide. In general, the carbapenem β-lactam antibiotics are considered a final resort against lethal infections by multidrug-resistant bacteria.

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Content Swapping: A New Image Synthesis for Construction Sign Detection in Autonomous Vehicles
Construction signs alert drivers to the dangers of abnormally blocked roads. In the case of autonomous vehicles, construction signs should be detected automatically to prevent accidents.
