Carbapenem-Only Combination Therapy against Multi-Drug Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Assessment of In Vitro and In Vivo Efficacy and Mode of Action

open access: yesAntibiotics, 2022
The aim of the study was to determine the efficacy of carbapenem-only combination treatments derived from four approved drugs (meropenem, doripenem, ertapenem and imipenem) against a MDR strain of P.

Safety of Intravenous Infusion of Doripenem [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Infectious Diseases, 2009
Carbapenems remain a mainstay for the empirical treatment of serious nosocomial infection. Although the tolerance and safety profile of the carbapenems as a class is favorable, the primary safety concern is the potential for treatment-emergent seizures. In preclinical testing, doripenem, a new carbapenem antibiotic, showed negligible neurotoxic effects.

Population Pharmacokinetics of Doripenem in Critically Ill Patients with Sepsis in a Malaysian Intensive Care Unit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Doripenem has been recently introduced in Malaysia and is used for severe infections in the intensive care unit. However, limited data currently exist to guide optimal dosing in this scenario.

Bench‐Stable Boryl Thianthrenium Dication Enables Aziridinyl Boronate Synthesis via Metal‐Free Late‐Stage Aziridination with Diverse Nitrogen Nucleophiles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 4, 22 January 2026.
A bench‐stable boryl thianthrenium dication is synthesized via thianthrenation of vinyl MIDA boronate. This novel dication enables metal‐free, chemo‐, and diastereoselective late‐stage aziridination with diverse nitrogen nucleophiles. The strategic significance is further showcased by one‐pot electrochemical and asymmetric protocols and versatile ...

Predicting the Effects of Carbapenem/Carbapenemase Inhibitor Combinations against KPC-Producing Klebsiella pneumoniae in Time-Kill Experiments: Alternative versus Traditional Approaches to MIC Determination

open access: yesAntibiotics, 2021
Traditionally, the antibacterial activity of β-lactam antibiotics in the presence of β-lactamase inhibitors is determined at the fixed inhibitor concentration.

In vitro Evaluation of Linezolid and Doripenem Clearance with Different Hemofilters

open access: yesBlood Purification, 2020
Introduction: Renal replacement therapy (RRT) is widely used in the treatment of septic acute kidney injury. However, little is known about how the adsorption properties of hemofilters used in RRT affect antibiotic concentration.

Doripenem

open access: yesDrugs in R & D, 2003
Doripenem [S 4661] is a new parenteral carbapenem antibacterial undergoing clinical trials in Japan and North America. It is characterised by a 1beta-methyl group and a sulfamoylaminomethyl substituted pyrrolidylthio group at the C2 position. The compound has good activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and superior activity to ...

Mutant Prevention Concentrations of Doripenem and Meropenem Alone and in Combination with Colistin (Polymyxin E), Levofloxacin and Tobramycin in Pseudomonas aeruginosa

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology, 2009
BACKGROUND: With a limited number of available antimicrobial agents to treat Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections, the prevention of emergence of antimicrobial resistance and its subsequent spread is critical.

Intereactions between doripenem and clavulanate — Application of minimal inhibitory concentration analysis and cytometry flow for bactericidal studies

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Biotechnology, 2018
Background: In view of the current low efficacy of bacterial infection treatment the common trend towards searching for antibiotic systems exhibiting synergistic action is well justified.
