Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Development of a rapid drop test for surface quality inspection [PDF]
In material bonding, the surface energy of the adherend can be an excellent predictor of adhesive bond strength. In this research, the use of the sessile drop test as a pre-bond inspection tool for bonded composite repairs was investigated.

Analysis of spin-up and spring back loads of landing gear based on slip rate
The landing gear spin-up and spring back loads are the important part of the aircraft landing load. In order to effectively analyze the spin-up and spring back loads of the landing gear in the preliminary design stage, the two-wheel strut landing gear ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
