Liver injury is commonly seen in the population depending on the drug and chemical usage. Different groups of drugs and chemicals lead to different pathogeneses in the liver, such as necrosis, fibrosis, or inflammation.

Biomarkers of drug-induced liver injury [PDF]
Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is a major clinical and regulatory challenge. As a result, interest in DILI biomarkers is growing. So far, considerable progress has been made in identification of biomarkers for diagnosis (acetaminophen-cysteine protein adducts), prediction (genetic biomarkers), and prognosis (microRNA-122, high mobility group box 1 ...

The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Biomarkers for drug-induced liver injury
Of the estimated 10,000 documented human drugs, more than 1000 have been associated with drug-induced liver injury (DILI), although causality has not always been established clearly. Numerous biomarkers for DILI have been explored, but less than ten are adopted or qualified as valid by the US FDA.

CD105‐LNPs and PS‐LNPs can deliver α‐lipoic acid to bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and bone marrow‐derived macrophages, reversing high glucose‐induced oxidative stress while enhancing osteogenesis and M2 polarization. Integrating both nanoparticles into glucose‐responsive hyaluronic acid hydrogel forms DLNPs@HA hydrogel, which accelerates diabetic ...

A virtual scalable model of the Hepatic Lobule for acetaminophen hepatotoxicity prediction
Addressing drug-induced liver injury is crucial in drug development, often causing Phase III trial failures and market withdrawals. Traditional animal models fail to predict human liver toxicity accurately.

Functional Hydrogel for Modulating Lipid Droplets and Neuroinflammation in Head Injury
After TBI, elevated cholesterol levels in activated microglia lead to the accumulation of cholesterol esters in lipid droplets, exacerbating neuroinflammation. A β‐cyclodextrin‐conjugated GelMA (βCD‐GelMA) hydrogel is developed to promotes cholesterol efflux and reduces LDL influx, thereby alleviating intracellular cholesterol and lipid droplet buildup.

Dietary patterns and the risk of tuberculosis-drug-induced liver injury: a cohort study
Background and purposeNutrition is associated with tuberculosis drug-induced liver injury (TBLI). How dietary patterns relate to tuberculosis drug-induced liver injury is still unknown.
