BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Polydatin ameliorates ovalbumin‐induced asthma in a rat model through NCOA4‐mediated ferroautophagy and ferroptosis pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this research, a rat model of asthma was created using OVA, and polydatin served as an intervention. By inhibiting ferroautophagy mediated by NCOA4 and averting ferroptosis, polydatin has been demonstrated to reduce asthma. This work presents new ideas for investigating the mechanism of polydatin's ability to alleviate asthma, in addition to ...

Drug-Induced Liver Injury Due To Losartan

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Case Reports in Internal Medicine, 2021
Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is a challenging diagnosis since a wide variety of medicines can cause adverse reactions. Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARA-II) approved for the treatment of arterial hypertension.

Factors for Rituximab Refractoriness in AQP4‐IgG+ NMOSD: A Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a severe autoimmune condition of the central nervous system (CNS), often associated with aquaporin‐4 antibodies (AQP4‐IgG). Rituximab, a CD20+ B‐cell depleting monoclonal antibody, is widely used as first‐line therapy.

Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein Astrocytopathy Based on a Two‐Center Chinese Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Glial fibrillary acidic protein astrocytopathy (GFAP‐A) is a recently defined nosological form belonging to the class of autoimmune inflammatory disorders affecting the central nervous system (CNS). Here, we report the clinical and MRI characteristics, treatment, and prognosis of a GFAP‐A cohort from two centers in China.

Accurate imaging in the processes of formation and inhibition of drug-induced liver injury by an activable fluorescent probe for ONOO−

open access: yesMaterials Today Bio, 2023
Herein, an activable fluorescent probe for peroxynitrite (ONOO−), named NOP, was constructed for the accurate imaging in the processes of formation and inhibition of drug-induced liver injury induced by Acetaminophen (APAP).

Drug Induced Hepatotoxicity – An Ongoing Challenge

open access: yesJournal of Bahria University Medical and Dental College, 2021
Drug induced liver injury is one of the main factor of liver failure and acute liver damage world wide with high incidence in western countries. Liver injury can be intrinsic (dose dependant) or idiosyncratic (dose independent).

Translating a Preclinically Tested 15 Hz rTMS Protocol to Humans With Chronic Spinal Cord Injury: A Safety and Feasibility Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a non‐invasive brain stimulation strategy with a demonstrated potential to reinforce the residual pathways after a spinal cord injury (SCI). A preclinically tested high‐frequency (15 Hz) rTMS (15 Hz rTMS) protocol was shown to induce corticospinal tract axon regeneration growth ...
