Signaling and drug sensitivity

Cancer and Metastasis Reviews, 1994
Even though alterations in receptor and nonreceptor kinases are involved in the development of human cancer, many cancer cell lines still retain their responsiveness to growth factors. We have investigated the hypothesis that cellular signaling events regulate the sensitivity of cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents.

High-Sensitivity Antitumor Drug Sensitivity Testing

Oncology, 2009
For antitumor drug sensitivity testing we have been performing the succinic dehydrogenase inhibition test using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphe-nyltetrazolium bromide (MTT). A new tetrazolium salt 2,3-bis(2-methoxy-4-nitro-5-sulfophenyl)-5-[(phenyl-amino) carbonyl]-2H-tetrazolium hydroxide (XTT) has been synthesized recently, and we have been ...

Drug Performance Sensitivity

Journal Of Clinical Psychopharmacology, 1990
Thirty noninsomniac healthy adult men were enrolled in a multicenter pilot study to evaluate the sensitivity of psychomotor and cognitive tasks and subjective evaluation of performance and mood after treatment with flurazepam (Dalmane) 45 mg (larger than the recommended prescribing dose of 15-30 mg).

Electrode Sensitive to Sulfa Drugs

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1976
An electrode sensitive to sulfa drugs was constructed by using the iron(II)-bathophenanthroline chelate embedded in a liquid membrane. Rapid and Nernstian responses were exhibited against solutions of sulfamerazine and sulfisomidine ranging between 10(-3) and 10(-1) M in concentration.

Cell Cycle and Drug Sensitivity

2005
Induction of tumor cell death by chemotherapeutic modalities often occurs in a cell cycle-dependent manner. It has also been observed that several regulatory proteins involved in tumor chemosensitivity and apoptosis are expressed periodically during the cell cycle progression.

Drug Sensitization, Substance Abuse, and Chemical Sensitivity

Toxicology and Industrial Health, 1994
Substance abuse, involving drugs such as cocaine, heroin, alcohol, marijuana, nicotine, barbiturates, etc., is by far by the most prevalent psychiatric disorder. Much has been learned about the abuse of these substances that may be useful to consider in designing and analyzing research concerning multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS).
