Dry rolling/sliding wear of nanostructured bainite [PDF]

open access: yesWear, 2014
Abstract The abrasive wear of carbide-free bainitic steel under dry rolling/sliding conditions has been studied. It is demonstrated that this nanostructure, generated by isothermal transformation at 200 °C, has a resistance to wear that supersedes that of other carbide-free bainitic steels transformed at higher temperatures.

Friction and wear behaviors of biodegradable Mg-6Gd-0.5Zn-0.4Zr alloy under simulated body fluid condition

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys, 2017
The friction and wear behaviors of biodegradable Mg-6Gd-0.5Zn-0.4Zr (wt%, GZ60K) alloy were evaluated under simulated body fluid (SBF) condition using ball-on-disk configuration and compared with those under dry sliding condition.

EFFECT OF MAGNETIC FIELD ON FRICTION AND WEAR OF BRASS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Egyptian Society of Tribology, 2011
The present work discusses the effect of the magnetic field on the friction and wear of brass sheets scratched by a steel insert at dry and lubricated by vegetable oils and dispersed by polymeric particles such as polyethylene (PE), polyamide (PA6) and ...

Dry sliding wear of NiAl

open access: yesWear, 1996
The dry sliding wear behavior of the B2-structured (ordered body-centered cubic) compound NiAl has been studied. Pin-on-disk experiments were conducted at room temperature in air using pins made from extruded NiAl with compositions of 50, 48, and 45 at.% aluminum. Partially stabilized zirconia was the disk material.
