Real-time monitoring of apples (Malus domestica var. Gala) during hot-air drying using NIR spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Among commercial fruits, apple shows a growing trend to its worldwide consumption, where dried apple plays a major part in food industry as raw material to produce snacks, integral breakfast foods, chips, etc., which have become popular in the diet of ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Drying kinetics, energy consumption, and quality of paddy (MAR-219) during drying by industrial inclined bed dryer with or without the fluidized bed dryer. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The performances of industrial dryers, namely the inclined bed dryer (IBD) and the fluidized bed dryer (FBD) combined with IBD, in terms of drying kinetics, energy consumption, and quality of paddy were investigated in this study.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Influence of temperature on ‘Rojo Brillante’ persimmon drying. Quality characteristics and drying kinetics

open access: yesLWT, 2023
[EN] A physico-chemical characterization and drying kinetics study was performed for whole `Rojo Brillante¿ persimmon subjected to hot-air drying at 35 ¿C, 40 ¿C and 45 ¿C. Fruit was dried until a moisture content of 30 g water/100 g product, which is required to be considered dried persimmon.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Research on Intelligent Control Method of Grain Drying Based on LSTM-MPC

open access: yesLiang you shipin ke-ji, 2023
The current control methods in the grain drying process mainly focus on ensuring uniform moisture content, energy saving, and emission reduction. However, precise control of drying quality remains a bottleneck problem.
