The role of abscisic acid and water relations in drought responses of subterranean clover [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The role of water relations and abscisic acid (ABA) in the responses to drought were studied in a mediterranean forage crop, Trifolium subterraneum L. under field conditions.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Influence of Mechanical Yielding on Predictions of Saturation: The Saturation Line [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
It is now well accepted that the mechanical and the water retention behaviour of a soil under unsaturated conditions are coupled and, that such coupling, should be incorporated into a constitutive model for a realistic representation of soil’s response ...

Network modelling of the influence of swelling on the transport behaviour of bentonite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Wetting of bentonite is a complex hydro-mechanical process that involves swelling and, if confined, significant structural changes in its void structure.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

EFFECTS OF SAWING PATTERN ON DRYING RATE AND RESIDUAL DRYING STRESSES OF PINUS RADIATA LUMBER

open access: yesMaderas: Ciencia y Tecnología, 2002
Flatsawn and quartersawn Pinus radiata (radiata pine) sapwood boards were dried in a tunnel dryer in three runs using three drying schedules. These schedules represented low temperature (LT), accelerated conventional temperature (ACT) and high ...

Study on Strength Attenuation Characteristics of Residual Expansive Soil under Wetting-Drying Cycles and Low Stress and Its Relationship with Shallow Landslide

open access: yesGeofluids, 2022
The rapid development of expansive soil fissures and the attenuation of strength under the action of repeated atmospheric wetting-drying cycles have a very adverse impact on the shallow stability of expansive soil slope.

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

TECHNIQUES TO MONITOR DRYING STRESSES AND DIMENSIONAL CHANGES IN TIMBER FROM PLANTATION-GROWN EUCALYPTS FOR KILN SCHEDULE DEVELOPMENT AND KILN CONTROL

open access: yesMaderas: Ciencia y Tecnología, 2002
Drying tests were conducted with timber from 13 year-old plantation-grown Eucalyptus nitens and E. globulus, to determine shrinkage and drying degrade of tangential- and radial-sawn boards.

Experimental investigation on the influence of drying on the seismic performance of three-story RC buildings

open access: yesDevelopments in the Built Environment
The drying of concrete has been recognized as a key phenomenon in the deterioration of concrete structures. Nevertheless, the complex conditions of real RC structures may lead to unforeseen responses observed from existing laboratory experiments on RC ...
