The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Evaluation of drying time on thickness variations on the physical and sensory test of tortilla chips

open access: yesAgrointek
Tortilla chips have differences of thickness, some consumers like thick tortillas and others like thin tortillas. The thickness of the tortilla affects the drying process.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Formulation optimisation for pilot-scale honey powder production: A response surface methodology and central composite design approach

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences
This research aimed to optimise a pilot-scale formulation for seamless scale-up, considering critical variables such as the honey-to-maltodextrin ratio, temperature, and drying time.

Influence of Conduction Drying on the Physical and Combustion Properties of Hazelnut Shell

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Hazelnut fruit samples were collected over 2 years (2020 and 2021) and subjected to four different drying temperatures (100, 120, 140, and 160 °C) and four different drying times of 15, 30, 45, and 60 min using conduction drying.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Is walnut drying time affected by ethephon?

open access: yesCalifornia Agriculture, 1976
When the growth regulator ethephon is applied to walnuts at maturity and when packing tissue between kernel halves turns brown, hull dehiscence and nut loosening are advanced.

Drying Characteristics of Garcinia atroviridis

open access: yesWalailak Journal of Science and Technology, 2011
Some physical and chemical properties of fresh garcinia fruits are reported. The most suitable drying conditions for garcinia material in a tray dryer based on the final moisture content were determined by extensive testing.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.
