AE, DST, and Their SuperMAG Counterparts: The Effect of Improved Spatial Resolution in Geomagnetic Indices

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2019
For decades, geomagnetic indices have been used extensively to parameterize space weather events, as input to various models and as space weather specifications.

Transfer entropy and cumulant-based cost as measures of nonlinear causal relationships in space plasmas: applications to Dst

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2018
. It is well known that the magnetospheric response to the solar wind is nonlinear. Information theoretical tools such as mutual information, transfer entropy, and cumulant-based analysis are able to characterize the nonlinearities in the system.

Reclaimed Voices: The Silent Impact of Women’s Experiences of Homelessness

open access: yesInternational Journal on Homelessness
Background: Homelessness is a rising crisis that affects hundreds of thousands of individuals in America; but affects women differently than men. The experiences women face while homeless can translate into traumatic experiences and profoundly shape an ...

Improved DST Cryptanalysis of IDEA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we show how the Demirci-Selcuk-Ture attack, which is currently the deepest penetrating attack on the IDEA block cipher, can be improved significantly in performance. The improvements presented reduce the attack's plaintext, memory, precomputation time, and key search time complexities.

Expanding the phenotype of DST‐related disorder: A case report suggesting a genotype/phenotype correlation

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics. Part A, 2017
The gene DST encodes for the large protein BPAG1 involved in hemidesmosomes. Its alternative splicing gives rise to tissue‐enriched isoforms in brain, muscle, and skin.

Laboratory strengthening strategies to advance drug susceptibility testing for BPaL regimens in TB treatment

open access: yesPublic Health Action
BACKGROUND: To support BPaL (bedaquiline [Bdq], pretomanid [Pa] and linezolid [Lzd]) rollout, countries require ongoing technical and policy support for standardized drug susceptibility testing (DST).

Image Retrieval using DST and DST Wavelet Sectorization [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Computer Science and Applications, 2011
The concept of sectorization of the transformed images for CBIR is an innovative idea. This paper introduces the concept of Wavelet generation for Discrete sine transform (DST).The sectorization of the DST transformed images and the DST wavelet transforms has been done into various sector sizes i.e.4,8,12, and 16.

Automatic selection of Dst storms and their seasonal variations in two versions of Dst in 50 years

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2017
A computer program is developed to automatically identify the geomagnetic storms in Dst index by applying four selection criteria that minimize non-storm-like fluctuations. The program is used to identify the storms in Kyoto Dst and USGS Dst in 50 years (
