Vacuum Polarization in QED with World-Line Methods [PDF]
Motivated by several recent papers on string-inspired calculations in QED, we here present our own use of world-line techniques in order to calculate the vacuum polarization and effective action in scalar and spinor QED with external arbitrary constant ...

Age-specific gray and white matter DTI atlas for human brain at 33, 36 and 39 postmenstrual weeks
&NA; During the 3rd trimester, dramatic structural changes take place in the human brain, underlying the neural circuit formation. The survival rate of premature infants has increased significantly in recent years.

Hominoid‐specific calretinin‐immunopositivity of the optic radiation (geniculocalcarine tract)
Calretinin‐immunostained coronal section through the primary (V1) and extrastriate (ExSt) cortex of the lar gibbon. Note that the optic radiation (OR) is strongly calretinin‐immunoreactive. This calretinin‐immunopositivity of the OR distinguishes the Hominoidea from other primates in terms of the neurochemistry of the OR.

Severity of Spinal Cord Injury Influences Diffusion Tensor Imaging of the Brain [PDF]
Background: The purpose of this study was to determine whether DTI changes in the brain induced by a thoracic spinal cord injury are sensitive to varying severity of spinal contusion in rats. Methods: A control, mild, moderate, or severe contusion injury

Abstract Teaching white matter (WM) anatomy to undergraduates is challenging. This is partly because WM fibers are oriented intricately and Klingler's dissection, the gold standard method used to demonstrate it, often requires time, advanced anatomical knowledge, and refined dissection skills.

\u3cem\u3eEx Vivo\u3c/em\u3e Diffusion Tensor Imaging of Spinal Cord Injury in Rats of Varying Degrees of Severity [PDF]
The aim of this study was to characterize magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in proximal regions of the spinal cord following a thoracic spinal cord injury (SCI). Sprague–Dawley rats (n = 40) were administered a control, mild, moderate, or

Empirical comparison of diffusion kurtosis imaging and diffusion basis spectrum imaging using the same acquisition in healthy young adults [PDF]
As diffusion tensor imaging gains widespread use, many researchers have been motivated to go beyond the tensor model and fit more complex diffusion models, to gain a more complete description of white matter microstructure and associated pathology.

White matter integrity changes in mild cognitive impairment associated with Aspirin use [PDF]
Objectives: Alzheimer's disease (AD) represents a significant public health challenge, particularly as its prevalence is projected to rise sharply. Aspirin, known for its anti-inflammatory and antiplatelet properties, has been hypothesized to affect AD ...
