Ultra-Fine Grained Dual-Phase Steels [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Ultrafine Grained and Nanostructured Materials, 2012
This paper provides an overview on obtaining low-carbon ultra-fine grained dual-phase steels through rapid intercritical annealing of cold-rolled sheet as improved materials for automotive applications.

Gluodynamics in External Field: A Test of the Dual Superconductor Picture

open access: yes, 2003
We study gluodynamics in an external Abelian electromagnetic field within the dual superconductor approach. We show that the SU(2) gluodynamics should possess a deconfining phase transition at zero temperature at certain value of the external field.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Modeling of Dual-Phase Composite Magnetic Material and Its Application in Transformers

open access: yesEnergies
Dual-phase composite magnetic materials have magnetic and permanent magnetic properties. They can realize the dual-phase conversion of soft magnetic and permanent magnetic composites with a small amount of excitation energy.

A new adaptive dead time compensation method for dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
This paper proposes a new adaptive dead time compensation method for dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors with two sets of three-phase windings spatially shifted by 30 electrical degrees.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Effect of intercritical annealing and subsequent ageing on the microstructure and mechanical properties of a medium Ni–Mn low carbon steel

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
The aim of this research was to develop a medium Ni–Mn dual phase steel with a combination of relatively high strength and good formability for industrial applications.

Constraints in dual phase shifting interferometry

open access: yesOptics Express, 2006
The paper presents approaches based on traditional phase shifting, flexible least-squares, and signal processing methods in dual phase shifting interferometry primarily applied to holographic moiré for retrieving multiple phases. The study reveals that these methods cannot be applied straightforward to retrieve phase information and discusses the ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Dual Phase Ferrite-Martensitic Steel Micro-Alloyed with V-Nb [PDF]

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2007
For low-carbon V-Nb micro-alloyed steel, dual phase ferrite-martensitic microstructures were prepared with a variable martensite fraction, which ranged from Vm 20 to 88%.
