Distribution of Peroxidases in Durum Wheat (Triticum durum)
Cereal Chemistry, 2000ABSTRACTA biochemical study of the main durum wheat milling fractions (bran, embryo, and semolina) showed that peroxidases (POD) were present in multiple forms in the kernel and appeared to be tissue specific: one form for the embryo, one for the endosperm, one for the subaleuronic layer, and one for the outer layers.

Wheat, Barley, and Durum Wheat
1997In the first part of this chapter, we propose to determine the curve of critical plant N% for cereals during the development of the crop ranging from tillering to anthesis, for different cultivars and growth conditions. The results are mainly derived from Justes et al. (1994) with winter wheat.

Commander durum wheat is adapted to the durum production area of the Canadian prairies. It combines high yield, high grain pigment concentration, and very strong gluten properties. Commander is a semidwarf with strong straw, and has similar maturity and disease resistance to other registered durum cultivars. Key words: Triticum turgidum L.

Brigade durum wheat [Triticum turgidum L. subsp. durum (Desf.) Husn.] is adapted to the durum production area of the Canadian prairies. It combines yield similar to the checks, very strong gluten, and low grain cadmium concentration. Brigade has better straw strength than Strongfield, slightly later maturity, and Fusarium head blight resistance better

Chromosome structure of durum wheat
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1990Meiotic pairing was analyzed at metaphase I in ABRR triticale × rye hybrids to identify the arm homoeology of chromosomes ofTriticum turgidum. Wheat chromosomes were identified using a C-banding technique. Results confirmed that the homoeologous relationships between chromosome arms of the A and B genomes inT. turgidum are the same as inT.

Strongfield durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L. var durum) is adapted to the durum production area of the southern Canadian prairies. It combines high yield, high grain protein concentration, and low grain cadmium concentration.
