Detailed Microwave Continuum Spectra from Bright Protoplanetary Disks in Taurus

open access: yesThe Open Journal of Astrophysics
We present new observations that densely sample the microwave (4-360 GHz) continuum spectra from eight young systems in the Taurus region. Multi-component, empirical model prescriptions were used to disentangle the contributions from their dust disks and

Composition Restoration Enables Recycling of Mixed‐Cation, Mixed‐Halide Perovskites for Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Compositional drift during processing prevents the direct recycling of mixed‐cation, mixed‐halide perovskites. This work introduces a framework to quantitatively audit and restore recovered materials, enabling closed‐loop recycling with efficiencies comparable to virgin perovskites.

Evidence for Dust Depletion in a Misaligned Protoplanetary Disk with JWST

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Here we report the detection of dust depletion in a misaligned inner disk around UX Tau A using JWST MIRI spectra. Mid-infrared (MIR) continuum “seesaw” variability was detected in this disk by Spitzer and attributed to variable shadows cast on the outer

Resolving the Interstellar Medium at the Peak of Cosmic Star Formation

open access: yes, 2018
The interstellar medium feeds both the formation of stars and the growth of black holes, making it a key ingredient in the evolution of galaxies.

Detections of Compact Radio Continuum toward Methanol Maser Rings Using the VLA

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
High-mass protostars are deeply embedded in dust inside their natal cores and are not easily detectable. However, maser emission at centimeter wavelengths, owing to its high brightness, enables us to study gas kinematics in protostars’ circumstellar ...

Dust and HCO+ Gas in the Star Forming Core W3-SE

open access: yes, 2009
We report new results from CARMA observations of both continuum and HCO+(1-0) emission at 3.4 mm from W3-SE, a molecular core of intermediate mass, together with the continuum observations at 1.1 and 0.85/0.45 mm with the SMA and JCMT.

Tumbling Magnetic Microrobots for Targeted In Vivo Drug Delivery in the GI Tract

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
We introduce a microrobot design and integrated system for on‐demand targeted drug release in the gastrointestinal tract. The microrobot has an embedded magnet for actuation with external magnetic fields and is visualized in real time using ultrasound. It has two drug release ports sealed with a thermally sensitive wax. Local heating of the wax using a
