Experimental and numerical simulation study on forced ventilation and dust removal of coal mine heading surface

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology
In order to study the problems of unreasonable airflow distribution and serious dust pollution in a heading surface, an experimental platform for forced ventilation and dust removal was built based on the similar principles.

Performance of N95 elastomeric respirators in high humidity and high coal dust concentration environment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology, 2022
High humidity and high dust concentration in deep coal mines may severely challenge the performance of respirators worn by coal miners. This paper aims at quantitatively evaluating the respirators used in deep coal mines and providing scientific guidance

Transport control of dust particles via the Electrical Asymmetry Effect: experiment, simulation, and modeling

open access: yes, 2013
The control of the spatial distribution of micrometer-sized dust particles in capacitively coupled radio frequency discharges is relevant for research and applications. Typically, dust particles in plasmas form a layer located at the sheath edge adjacent

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Exploration of predicting occupational injury severity based on LightGBM model and model interpretability method

open access: yes环境与职业医学
BackgroundLight gradient boosting machine (LightGBM) has become a popular choice in prediction models due to its high efficiency and speed. However, the "black box" issues in machine learning models lead to poor model interpretability.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Glycogen metabolism reprogramming promotes inflammation in coal dust-exposed lung

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2022
Long-term coal dust exposure triggers complex inflammatory processes in the coal workers’ pneumoconiosis (CWP) lungs. The progress of the inflammation is reported to be affected by disordered cell metabolism.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
