Determining Parental Factors for Clinical Trial Attrition in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Despite high enrollment rates on Children's Oncology Group (COG) protocols, attrition after initial consent is challenging, introducing bias and prolonging trial completion. While adult oncology literature has identified predictors of withdrawal, little is known about caregiver decision‐making for child participation in ...

Enhancement of strength and ductility of cement-based composites by incorporating silica nanoparticle coated polyvinylalcohol fibers

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
Addition of fibers can give brittle material extrinsic toughness, mainly because of the bridging effects. However, such behavior is highly dependent on the interfacial interaction between fiber and brittle matrix.

Dynamical behavior of Borospherene: A Nanobubble [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
AbstractThe global minimum structure of borospherene (B40) is a cage, comprising two hexagonal and four heptagonal rings. Born-Oppenheimer Molecular Dynamics simulations show that continuous conversions in between six and seven membered rings take place. The activation energy barrier for such a transformation is found to be 14.3 kcal·mol−1.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Serum Myonectin Levels Are Positively Associated With Physical Function and Lower Frailty‐Related Limitation in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Numerical Investigations of Snow Load Interference Effects on Multiple Arched Roofs Under Wind–Snow Coupled Actions

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Driven by the intensification of climate change, extreme snow events are becoming more frequent, posing significant risks to the safety of arched-roof structures. The combination of strong winds and heavy snowfall will cause localized snowdrifts that may
