Rolling maneuver load alleviation using active controls [PDF]

open access: yes
Rolling Maneuver Load Alleviation (RMLA) was demonstrated on the Active Flexible Wing (AFW) wind tunnel model in the LaRC Transonic Dynamics Tunnel. The design objective was to develop a systematic approach for developing active control laws to alleviate

Passiv damping on spacecraft sandwich panels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
For reusable and expendable launch vehicles as well as for other spacecraft structural vibration loads are safety critical design drivers impacting mass and lifetime. Here, the improvement of reliability and safety, the reduction of mass, the extension

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Structural load challenges during space shuttle development [PDF]

open access: yes
The challenges that resulted from the unique configuration of the space shuttle and capabilities developed to meet these challenges are described. The methods and the organization that were developed to perform dynamic loads analyses on the space shuttle

Test results from a dynamic model dynaflex rotor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
A one-fifth scale dynamic model of the Sikorsky Dynaflex rotor was tested in hover and in forward flight conditions in a wind tunnel. The Dynaflex rotor features an advanced composite structure which flexes to provide a constant speed universal joint ...

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Mechanical properties and energy evolution of combined coal-rock body under different stress states and strain rates

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
The stress environment of deep coal-rock mass is complex, to further reveal the mechanism of rock burst induced by dynamic load. Based on the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar test system, the dynamic tests under different stress states (non-axial and ...

Nonlinear equations of ribbed shells motion taking into account the different properties of the material. II [PDF]

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2010
It is known that in the process of deformation of shells depending on the level and duration of external influences may appear different properties of the material of construction: elasticity, plasticity, creep, etc.

Influence of linear profile modification and loading conditions on the dynamic tooth load and stress of high contact ratio gears [PDF]

open access: yes
A computer simulation for the dynamic response of high-contact-ratio spur gear transmissions is presented. High contact ratio gears have the potential to produce lower dynamic tooth loads and minimum root stress but they can be sensitive to tooth profile

Dynamic loads in Francis runners and their impact on fatigue life

open access: yes, 2014
Reliable fatigue life assessment of Francis runners combines two parts: At first, the load universe describing how the plant will be operated. And secondly, for all essential operating conditions, component stresses due to static and dynamic loading have
